August 2018

Its photo time again! Make sure you have your prepaid envelopes prepared for the morning. Session times are posted on your child's room doors. For individual photos please come earlier. This day is fun, frantic and totally unorganised no matter how I try to organise it. Long term families will remember from the previous years J . However, I am certain that you will love the end result. Andrew is a wonderful and very patient photographer.

There is a collection of clothing items occulated by the entrance door. These will be donated to the op shop next week. Please have look to make sure nothing belongs to your child.

The children are all enjoying the new furniture in the preschool room which was purchased through the fundraising we raised during the Commonwealth Games. Yay! As the weather is getting warmer please ensure that you provide both cool and warm clothes for your child during this unpredictable season.

Miss Donna will be away from the 27th August for one week. Mr Rob will be away 3rd Sept until the 21st Sept and Miss Tracey will be away from the 3rd Sept till the 11th Sept. Miss Donna will be the nominated supervisor during this time. If you have any concerns can you please address them to Miss Donna?.If you have a child in the nursery can you please ensure that you change their night nappy before attending kindy? If you suspect that your child may have a dirty nappy can you please let the lead educator know when you drop them off so they can be changed immediately? Otherwise it may take a few extra minutes before the educator realises and the baby is left uncomfortable for longer than need be.If you require care before 7:00am can you please inform me or one of the staff so the roaster can be amended accordingly to ensure quality care for all children?

Nursery

We have been very busy in the nursery/toddler room. Irie has been working on her

gross motor skills, and trying out the small slide, she just needs a little bit of help with

her confidence to slide down🤗 Elle is getting adventurous on the balance bridge now

that she can walk, well done Elle, no stopping you now!

Luke has started to call Irie by her name, and they have all started to clap at each

other's achievements. We are all continuously working on our communication and

language skills👏 . We also (actually I think it's just me!) enjoy singing songs, Old

McDonald and If you're happy and you know it 😊 🎤, and we will keep practicing!

Malakai, Rhylan, Luke, Elle and Irie love being outdoors, and we are looking forward to

the warmer weather so we can have more water play time 💦 Please ensure to pack a

hat for these warm days ahead☀ .

Everyone loves washing their hands 🤲 before eating and after nappy changes, it's

becoming routine now, and it's also a bit fun with the water 💦

We have a new Tipi in the toddler room too, which the toddlers will no doubt enjoy

over the coming weeks. I look forward to encouraging your babies and toddlers to

talk, kick a ball, enjoy some fun water activities outdoors and watching them grow. We

all know that water makes things grow! 🤗 See you soon!!!.....

Senior Kindy News

Hello again to all our parents. Another month has passed and it's time for our newsletter to give you some ideas of what's going on in our room. Before that we'd like to welcome Indiana, Scarlett Heidi and families to the senior kindy room.

Over the last couple of months we've been busy taking part in many activities, including art and craft, indoor and outdoor physical play and sensory activities. Please have a look at our room.

Besides these we are continuing to focus on children's letters and sound, pre writing skills including cutting with scissors. Our computer tablets have lots of playful interactive activities to help with shapes, numbers and colour recognition.

We are also trying to identify our first names and everyone is making progress in this area.

Learning to interact with each other with care, empathy and respect is another ongoing focus in our room. We promote and reinforce positive attitudes like sharing, turn taking and learning to cope with frustration in positive ways. We'd like to remind parents to label all items for your child, as many children have the same items.

Until next time

Rob.

Pre-school

This month in the preschool room has been very busy. The discussion has been around camping so we tried our hand at making Damper. Some of the children thought it was a bit 'chewy'.Abby however thought it was "nice" . As it was our 23rd birthday we had a Christmas in July party. This was heaps of fun.The children were disappointed when Miss Tracey explained that Santa was not coming as he was making toys for the real Christmas. Kaiah suggested ringing him and telling him to come anyway "it wouldn't take him long"he declared. The children enjoyed party food and being dressed up.We also made some new friends in the form of rocks. Miss Donna helped the children paint and named them. They sit in our room and watch us practice our pencil grip and writing skills.

A large focus this month has been on scissor cutting. We have been trying to cut along the line. We still need a little help with this activity, but we are trying really hard. The children are all enjoying the new furniture. They have been trying to remember their pack away skill so that the shelves stay tidy. Amity turned 4 this month. She brought yummy cupcakes to kindy with marshmallow on top for the whole centre to share. Thank you Amity and we hope you had a happy birthday. Indie also had a birthday this month we hope you had a good day Indie. We implement a school readiness programme in the preschool room. If you have any concerns regarding this or any other matter please do not hesitate to talk to either myself or Miss Donna.

Until next month
