Mr Rob will be on holidays from the 23rd of September 2022.Maria is a casual employee that will be working with us till the end of the year. Maria is trained as a teacher's aide.

The Nursery
What a busy time we have been having in the nursery!
Last week we said farewell to Scarlett, we wish her and her family well on their future adventures, we will miss you Scarlett 💕
The babies are becoming increasingly confident using their gross motor skills, and exploring the outdoors is proving very popular. By spending a lot of our time outside means the babies can test their physical limits, express themselves and build their self-confidence. The soft play shapes have been very popular this month as we enhance our problem-solving skills, along with working on our fine and gross motor development and balance. We continue to explore our senses using sand, water, leaves and grass and our own food as we learn to feed ourselves and get messy!
As we continue on to September, please ensure to pack a change of clothing for any water play, and a hat for protection from those sunny days. We would also love your assistance with applying sunscreen to your child before arriving at kindy, and any insect repellent that they may require. We will reapply sunscreen in the afternoon, and any insect repellent if requested. If you have any concerns or questions about anything, then please let me know.

Toddler's room
We have had a busy few weeks in the Toddler Room with themes for learning including birthday week, science week and book week.
The toddlers have flourished throughout, really engaging in each theme and using them as a platform to explore innovative ideas and concepts.
As it will be getting warmer soon, we remind parents to send sun safe clothing as well as spare clothing for activities such as water play and toileting. We have a few toddlers who are starting to sit on the toilet at Kindy, getting comfortable ready for toilet training.
Since the start of the year, we have had a daily group time with an interactive story or songs. We try and make it a fun way of learning together. We have slowly incorporated more challenging tasks such as counting 1-5 and basic sign language, musical instruments, and more discussions on our stories etc as the year progresses and the toddlers get older. This proves to be a beneficial and popular part of our routine.
If you have any questions or would like to contribute to our program in anyway, please don't hesitate to have a chat with either of us. We love receiving input from our families as it helps us get to know our toddlers even better. We use a lot of interests of the children to plan our activities each week.

3-5 Room
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your support in a smooth transition into Miss Sophie's new role as the 3-5 years Lead Educator, the children have adjusted well and have responded positively to this change, and I look forward to what we can get up to together!
We explored Dental Health Week where we discussed the importance of caring for our teeth, how to do so and why we care for our teeth. The children were excited to celebrate National Science Week where we made our own volcano experiment, stemming from children's interest. Beginning to hypothesise, use trial and error as well as understanding the cause and effect of these experiments and discussing them together is a fantastic way to promote the children inquiry skills (as well as having fun and getting messy doing so).
The children have been interested in our many Indigenous activities and experiences both indoors and outdoors, we have been learning the "Acknowledgment to Country" song during group times with the children getting more familiar each week as well as discussing the importance of respecting and promoting the Indigenous culture.
As numeracy and literacy activities are embedded into our weekly program, we have been focusing on school readiness with many of our friends heading to "big school" next year they have been working hard to smash their goals. Number recognition, name writing, basic phonics, exploring patterns as well as improving social skills have been a focus for the older children and will continue until the end of the year.
The past few weeks have been packed with children's birthdays and celebrating with friends. Finn turned 4 recently and celebrated with a magician show here with his friends, the children were engaged and laughing with some being selected to participate in the show as the magician showed them his best magic tricks! A big thank you to Nela for organising this amazing experience. We say farewell to the Carrell family (Sophia and Scarlett) who have been with us for a few years now, we appreciate your support over the years and your time with us and wish you all the best for the future, we will all miss you.
Father's Day is approaching, and the children will be creating a small gift showing their appreciation and love for their father or father figure (please don't hesitate to speak to Miss Sophie if necessary). We will also be exploring National Organic Week in the upcoming month where we will begin to plant and care for our own plants/fruits.
