From the front office

A huge welcome to all our existing and new families. It is hard to believe that we are almost in February and 2022 seems to be passing by faster than 2021.

I am looking forward to an exciting new year, filled with lots of activities and learning opportunities for the children. The staff is already in full swing with the delivery of the EYLF program.

Our centre has been recommended to a lot of new families. A huge thank you for the recommendations and your trust in us. Word of mouth is the best advertisement, and we are forever grateful.

Happy January!!

Welcome to 2022 from the Nursery!

In the nursery we always include a strong focus on social and emotional wellbeing and endure to give the babies a great sense of being and belonging. Social interactions are happening every day in the nursery and it is one of the most important aspects of any child's development.

The babies are also very busy with moving around their environment, practicing and gaining fundamental movement skills. We have the development of many essential motor skills during this time period including: walking, running, climbing, rolling, throwing, and kicking. We are always on the move!

Please ensure to pack a change of clothing for any water play, and a hat for protection from those sunny days. We would also love your assistance with applying sunscreen to your child before arriving at kindy, and any insect repellent that they may require. We will reapply sunscreen in the afternoon, and any insect repellent if requested. If you have any concerns or questions about anything, then please let me know.

Miss Nikki

Toddler room

Hello to all our families joining us in the toddler room this year!

Our focus for the next few weeks will be introducing our room routine to help make the transition as smooth as possible for the children.

We will be introducing a small daily group time where we read a story, sing songs and other activities.

We will be transitioning toddlers from cots to beds and from high chairs to normal chairs as they become ready. We will also be encouraging self help skills such as washing hands at the basin and helping to pack away toys.

If you have anything you'd like to contribute to our program please let us know, whether it be your child's interest, a cultural activity or sharing what you did on the weekend. We'd love to hear about your adventures.

We ask if you could please bring in a set of cot sheets for your child as they will need them for their toddler beds and if you could pack a hat as we will be spending time in the toddler's yard.

We are so excited to see where this year will take us!

Pre-prep Room

Welcome Families of the pre-prep room.

In the Pre-prep room, the children have been working well towards extending on their school readiness skills each morning. Children will continue each day engaging in literacy and numeracy learning experiences, which included writing their names numbers, drawing skills and reciting letters sounds twice a day as recommended by the local primary school. We are moving on from our 'all about me 'unit from the month of January, your little learners shared so much about their identities and families. We got to take a look at your little learners from their minds eye as well. We were let into their world where their educators could observe their changing interest that will enable the children to contribute to the setup of the room and how and what they are learning.

Lots of exciting craft projects have also been planned for the next few weeks in regards to our cultural units. During this time the children will participate in many different activities and experiences including dance and music, rock and leaf painting as well as observing and exploring Indigenous Australian flags. As well as some exciting presents and research into our upcoming Valentine's holiday that all our friends are super excited to participate in.

We would like to thank all our families for their ongoing support. If you have any suggestions for things you would like to see incorporated into the pre-prep program, we welcome suggestions.

Thank You

Luna
