Hi everyone welcome to the June newsletter.

Firstly I want to welcome back  our families who have been away, it is  really heart-warming for the Beattie Road educators to see you return. Welcome to the Lindsay family, we hope you enjoy your stay at our centre..

Due to the COVID-19 situation , we saw a very bleak start to the beginning of the year.  It was very nerve racking, and instead of growing in numbers, we were seeing families staying at home and no new enrolments beginning. We went from 3 classrooms open, to 1 room open. I am also aware that a our families have also had their own struggles. With the added burden of the 'free gap' childcare implemented by the government, although very supportive to those families who needed it, just added to the drama and uncertainty of our centre. It truly has been a difficult  first half of the year for our centre and the industry as a whole.

A huge "Thank You" to the families that have supported us during this time. It is truly appreciated, without your support this time would of been so much harder. To the educators /staff of the centre- a heart felt, thank you!  Every day they managed to keep the children smiling, and laughing. They planned exciting learning experiences which enabled the children to be calm , engaged and remain in a secure routine during these uncertain times.

It seem like we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel, with some of the restrictions being lifted and reduced.

Now that the centre is getting busier again, ( we now have 3classrooms officially open again - so exciting), I do want to take the time to remind families that we still need to follow safe hygiene practices when entering and going through the building. Please, can we only have one family member drop off/pick up children to limit traffic coming in and out of the centre. Please use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrance before entering the rooms and signing in on the Kiosk tablet.  When dropping off and picking up, please limit your time in the centre. Remembering at all times to practice social distancing with other educators and families. We are by no means anywhere near the end of this pandemic and have to keep doing what we can to keep ourselves and each other safe.

Please, if your child is sick - please, keep them at home. If you are sick, please organise for someone else to drop off/pick up your children. More than ever now we need to be vigilant in keeping everyone healthy where we can.

For those families yet to return, please advise at least one week prior to your planned return, as always, we still have to be mindful of staffing and ratio requirements. Knowing planned returns in advance, assists with the construction of the staffing roster.

The children had a great day last Thursday on the Pyjama Day. The centre raised $70 towards a new trampoline.  All the staff and children all came to kindy in their Pj's.  Below are some pic from the day.

Until next month take care
