Nursery Room

April 2023 from the Nursery!

This month we said goodbye to Tangiloto, we hope you enjoy your new adventure overseas! Please come back and visit us soon, we will miss you!

Over the next few weeks we will be concentrating on bonding and connecting with each other as we welcome Adaquix, he will be joining us in the nursery this month 🤗 It is very important for the babies to build secure attachments with one and then other familiar educators to gain a sense of belonging, to gain trust and to enable them to communicate their needs for comfort and assistance 🌸

As we continue through to the cooler months, please ensure to pack a jumper, a change of clothing for any water play, and a hat for those sunny days. We would also love your assistance with applying sunscreen to your child before arriving at kindy, and any insect repellent that they may require. We will reapply sunscreen in the afternoon, and any insect repellent if requested. If you have any concerns or questions about anything, then please let me know.

Toddler's Room

Jingeri to our toddler families,

We have seen some changes in our room recently with Grace, Karlee, Permalia and Remy and Miss Soph moving to the 3-5 room. We have worked hard getting our older 4 girls ready for their big class, and now it's time to start practicing those skills with the next group.

Our main goal from here is to adjust to our new class dynamic which is exciting because we will have a whole new set of adventures, starting with BLIPPI DAY stemming from a big interest with the younger toddlers in our room!

What else have we been up to? We have recently celebrated 4 Birthdays and Easter in our room which has kept us busy. We like to acknowledge different cultural events in the room throughout the year so please let me know if there's anything you'd like me to include. We will also be joining the 3-5 class one morning next week to make ANZAC biscuits.

I would like to remind parents to please pack jumpers as the weather is cooling down and to remember to pack a hat.

As always if you have any concerns or suggestions or would like to contribute to our program, please don't hesitate to have a chat to me, alternatively I can be contacted through the XAP app.

Thank you to my amazing class and families for making my job so rewarding and enjoyable.

Miss Carina

3-5 Room

Hi, over the past week we have welcomed some new friends into our room, therefore we have been using this time to bond with new friends, to explore new areas and spaces in the room outdoors and indoors and to connect together as a group. The children are connecting well as a group and settling in comfortably with the older children showing the younger children around, showing them how to do tasks such as getting their lunchbox, putting their shoes on and handing out drink bottles.

The children will be focusing on their individual goals and will continue to do so throughout the year as each child has different learning/developmental needs. 3 year olds will be focusing on toilet training, language and developing/maintaining a sense of belonging upon their transition to the 3–5 room. Preschool children will be continuing to focus on their social skills, language and school readiness tasks, this includes positive interactions with others, developing healthy habits, increasing concentration/focus time, cognitive activities and thinking and following instructions. As a cooking experience, ANZAC Day biscuits to be made for ANZAC Day joining with the Toddler room for this cooking experience.

Superstar Soccer is an extra-curricular activity presented by the Superstar Soccer team, if you wish for your child to participate in this program please collect an enrolment code from Miss Sophie or Miss Tracey. This is a paid program and runs every Thursday 11:00am-11:30am.

The weather is starting to cool down especially in the mornings and afternoons, please ensure your child has an extra layer (jumper, cardigan, coat) packed in their bag for cooler days. Even though the weather is cooling hats are still required for outdoor play, please ensure your child has a hat for outdoors. The children have still been working hard on collecting and creating their outdoor buckets, these will be used to store hats, shoes or any belongings.

Reminders

  • Please provide a hat for outdoor play
  • A water bottle
  • Weather appropriate clothing (sleeved shirts)
  • Please label all of your child's belonging
  • Lastly please be mindful of toys from home as this can cause confrontation and upset. If this occurs the toy will be removed until the child is collected later that day.

Thank you,

Miss Sophie
