Welcome to Spring!

The weather is starting to warm up a little which is nice.   A big welcome to our new families. We hope you will love the centre as much as we do. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact me, or any of the staff member.

The mossies are out and about again. Please supply insect repellent if you want us to apply it to your child. Remember to apply sunscreen before your child attends kindy.

Christmas Closure.

The centre will close on the 23rd December and reopen on the 4th Jan 2021. No fees will be charged for this period. Normal fees will apply from the 4th January 2021.

Christmas Concert.

This year due to the Pandemic we will not be having our usual Christmas Concert. We will however be filming the children singing which will be uploaded to our Facebook page for you to enjoy. We are asking the Pre-prep parents to attend the Pre- prep Graduation which will be held on the same day as the Christmas party. Social distancing will apply for this event. More information will be sent out as the date draws closer.

Transition Statements

I hope to have the Transitions Statement completed by the end of the month. There will be a consent form for parents to complete in order for me to be able to email the statements to your child's school next year. Parents will receive a hard copy of the statement upon completion.

Until Next Month

Take care and stay safe

 Nursery/Toddlers Room

Over the past few months, the babies and toddlers have endured a change in dynamics in their room with a number of children turning 3 and moving up into 'the big room' with Mr Rob and Miss Sophie. It has been a very exciting time for Logan, Melody, Corey and Elle exploring their new environment and making new friends. It has been a pleasure to watch some new friendships forming in the toddler room with some new children joining us. We welcomed Jaden, baby Owen and Aaliyah will be returning after a long break. With all of this in mind, Miss Carina and Miss Nicki will be putting our focus on the children's social and emotional wellbeing, getting settled with new faces and doing lots of bonding, and supporting the children the best that we can. In the meantime, we would love your assistance with applying sunscreen to your child before arriving at kindy, and any insect repellent they may require. We will reapply these in the afternoon. Please bring a hat, drink bottle, sheets (for rest time), and a change of clothes always comes in handy as we love to do a lot of water play during the warmer months!

As always, we welcome parent input into our program, and love to hear about any weekend and family experiences, or any particular child interests you would like us to know about.

Oh, and its only 73 days until Christmas!!!! J

See you all soon…….

Miss Nicki and Miss Carina

Kindy and Pre-prep room

Hello , Firstly  a big welcome to Tzion and Junior who started during the last month. The children are becoming very motivated when  exploring numbers through counting and solving simple maths.  It's great to see children so interested in developing their numeracy skills. .  Children's understanding of numeracy and literacy is contentiously encourage throughout the day as part of the school readiness programe.  This is done through encouraging  children to pack away 5 items in the room, or looking for their names on the beds. These small gestures  enforce their understanding of the daily use of letters and numbers.

As spring is here we will be exploring nutrition , food types and exercise. We will be planting our own fruit and veggies, and watching them grow as we water and tend to them daily. The will foster children's curiosity and thirst for learning.  This month we are continuing to use our manners, whilst our learning will be concentrated on pencil grip, and  presentation ( speaking  in front of the class ,show and tell) along with revising room limits.  Dealing with emotions can often be confusing for young children. This month we will be looking at appropriate way to express these feelings.

Reminders

label all belongings ( this will help avoid upsets at the end of the day.

Please do not bring toys to kindy. They often get damaged or lost. . Most of the times these are special toys and children are reluctant to share with their friends. Kindy has more than enough toys that can be shared. A comfort toy for rest time is appropriate, but this has to  be limited to only 1.

Thanks

Tracey, Rob and Sophie.
