Well spring is here!  The weather is warming up which usually means a lot more outside play. Please remember to dress your child appropriately. Your child should arrive at the centre with sunscreen on, the staff will reapply during the day. We have a 'no hat no play' policy. Please ensure your child has a hat when at Kindy.

Room Changes

We have a new staff member his name is Shaun. Most of you have already met him. Shaun has been in the industry over 8 years.  He is a fully qualified  educator. Shaun is doing the 3-5  year old room. I will continue to be the ECT in the rooms on Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr Rob has taken on the float position which means he is doing relief in the rooms everyday. Mr Rob will be in the front office on Wednesday and Thursday.

Miss Nikki and Miss Sophie are in the nursery room.

Miss Carina is doing the 2.5-3.5 year old's room.

Toys

Please do not let your children bring toys to Kindy. This morning we found a number of extremely small toys in the babies' room. Each room has specific play items according to the developmentally age of the room.

Transitions statements

The children in the kindergarten program going to big school next year ,transition statements will be finished by the end of October ( sooner if possible). These can be emailed to the school ( after a permission form is completed) or a hard copy can be handed to the family.

Parent Feedback Forms

There are parent survey forms on the noticed board in the foyer if you would like to complete one. These can be anonymous, and can be placed in the fees box when completed.

Sleep Charts

Just reminding parents that there are no sleep charts for pre-school children. The rest time is between 12:30-2:00. If you want actual times for your child you are welcome to ask the educator in the room.

Thats all from the office until next month

Jnr Kindy (2-3.5 years)

Hello to our Junior Kindy families,

With the weather warming up, we ask that families send a spare change of clothes as we will be participating in more water based play in conjunction with learning about water safety.

We have been spending more time in the Snr Kindy/Pre Prep room, forming new friendships and learning the routine.

In our room, we have been busy focusing on self help skills and challenging ourselves further with cognitive games and puzzles that expand our language, counting, colour recognition, memory, problem solving and social skills as we prepare for further transition to the next room.

Social skills and mental wellbeing is still our primary priority so all children feel happy and valued in our room. With this in mind, we are enjoying varied activities based on our interests. We welcome any input from our families regarding your children's interests, cultural traditions and learning focuses.

Thanks again for your continued support.

Miss Carina

Nursery Room

The nursery room has been very busy over the past month! This month we welcomed Scarlett, Cortez, Katana and Ngaitama into the room and we look forward to watching them grow. We are continually exploring sensory activities, and expanding on our gross motor skills, we are definitely becoming more confident moving around the environment, and walking has become very popular! It has been lovely to watch the babies interacting with each other, learning to take turns and wait during busy times.

Our program always includes a strong focus on social and emotional wellbeing and we endure to give your babies a great sense of belonging in the nursery.

As the weather is warming up, please ensure to pack a change of clothing for any water play, and a hat to protect them from those sunny days. We would also love your assistance with applying sunscreen to your child before arriving at Kindy, and any insect repellent that they may require. We will reapply sunscreen in the afternoon, and any insect repellent if requested. If you have any concerns or questions about anything, then please let us know. As always, we welcome parent input into our program, and love to hear about any weekend and family experiences.

See you all soon…….

Miss Nikki and Miss Sophie
