September Newsletter

Hello all!  We have had a long run of cooler weather this year which has been nice. I feel summer is just around the corner though. Due to the lack of rain we often have mossies at sunset. If you are concerned about this you are welcome to bring insect repellent and the staff will apply it to your child.

Transition Statements will be out by the end of the month. These are required for school age children attend big school next year. I an email them or give then to the family. Just let me know which you prefer.

We have a new staff member at our centre. Sophie is doing a traineeship with us. She usually works Monday and Friday, say hello to her next time you see her.

A big hello to your new families. We hope you love out little centre as much as we do. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. It's lovely to see all the comments on our facebook page. The children are getting quite use to having their photos taken and will often 'poise' for the picture 😊

Photo Day 19th September.2019.Staff are happy to change your child's clothes if you want them photo'd in something special. The room sessions times will be on the door. Please ensure that you arrive on time, or else your child will miss out on a class picture. Siblings are welcome to be photo'd together. Payment are to made online or in cash on the day.

We now have Superstar Soccer visiting the centre on Thursdays at 11:00am.  The children are loving learning soccer skills. This helps develop their  co-ordination skills  If you think your child may like to participate in this activity please let me know. There are still a few positions left.

Kind regards Tracey

Pre-Prep News

The months are flying now, our learning experiences are moving along nicely. Every day we are working towards school readiness, in all learning activities throughout the kindergarten Programme. Children have been working really hard in areas such as: Literacy, numeracy, colours and shapes. In the last few weeks we have been extending our numeracy skills and looking at simple addition and subtraction sums. It has been a positive experience with some great results from the children.

Over the upcoming few months we will be moving through our foundation skills of learning; simply put we will be focusing more strongly on sitting down, listening, watching, talking, discussing and engaging. During group time these are the skills that children will need to be "ready to learn". Which means they are learning how to retain information, develop understandings, deconstruct information and develop new ideas. Ensuring them a successful transition into big school.

Reminders : Hat for outdoor play

Drink bottle

Jumper for the cooler mornings/afternoons

All of these items ae to be labelled with your child's name on it.

Till next month

Nursery/Toddlers

We have been very busy in the toddler's room. We have recently completed our jungle theme, made gifts leading up to Father's Day and celebrated book week! We have also recently welcome 3 new friends.

Could we ask parents to please provide a hat and a change of clothes for your child as we will be looking at water play coming into the warmer months. We are continuing to work on our self-help skills particularly for older children in preparation for them joining Snr Kindy next year. If any parents would like us to incorporate toilet training into your child's Kindy day please let us know.

Thank you to those parents who have returned their family tree forms. We hope to start putting them on display soon
