Nursery Room

The babies and toddlers are expanding on their verbal communication skills between

educators and each other. New balancing and walking skills are being practiced daily,

and Irie, Elle and Malakai are using stable furniture to walk between, which is encouraging

their new found skills. They have great role models in Rhylan and Luke, to show them

how it is done!

We have continued on with sensory and messy play, and will be extending on this over

the next few weeks, and please excuse any art work on clothing that you may encounter

over the coming months!

The older toddlers, Tahlia and Madison, have been interacting well with the babies, along

with extending on their colour and shape recognition. They are enjoying role play activities

in home corner and singing lots of action songs. We have also been working on our

gross motor skills such as balancing, throwing, catching and kicking.

Bonding and spending time with your babies and toddlers is of upmost priority, ensuring

that all of their needs and wants are met. We love helping them all, and watching them

grow:-)

Last but not least, just a little reminder to label all belongings e.g. bottles, lunch boxes,

clothing, hats and to supply a clean, full water bottle for each day. If you have any

questions, concerns or suggestions regarding your child, please feel free to discuss them

with us. They are always welcome!

Miss Nicki & Mr Rob

Pre-prep Room

Hello to all our families, Wow! the first half of the year has flown. Children have really settled into their environment well. This month we have been focusing on identity & wellbeing. We have been getting familiar with the room routines and transitions .This will help support a sense of belonging for each child to their environment. As part of the kindergarten programme we implement a school readiness programme which helps toward preparing them for school. This includes an introduction to reading, writing and numeracy. Each day we are practicing recognising our own names and familiarising ourselves with the shape of letters. We often incorporate prompts like flashcards into the programme to extend their learning a little further.

The centre has over the last few year provided a language programme which is implemented by the Benevolent Society. Caris comes every Wednesday to support children in the kindy room with language development. If you have any concerns with language and anything else please do not hesitate to talk me or any of the lead educators.

Kind regards Tracey & Donna
