September Newsletter

Untitled-Design-15 September Newsletter

Welcome to the September Newsletter and to Spring.

With this beautiful weather, the educators have introduced water play and messy play into their programs. Children have loved playing with ice, water, and foam- splashing about. This sensory play is important in early childhood as it provides opportunities for children to actively use their senses as they explore their world,  and is crucial to brain development – it helps to build nerve connections in the brain's pathways.

This leads to a child's ability to complete more complex learning tasks and supports cognitive growth, language development, gross motor skills, social interaction and problem solving skills.

We have also planted new natives in our gardens. We received these butterfly attracting  and beautifully scented plants from Indigiscapes.  It is a lovely follow on from National Plant a Tree Day which we participated in earlier this year.

Talk Like a Pirate Day

This year we raised just shy of $80.00 to support children living with cancer and their families. Thank you to all who contributed to this day, through their donations and dress ups.

Centre Closure

Just a reminder that we will be closed for the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday on Monday October 5th. We will reopen as normal at 6.15am on Tuesday October 6th.

Kindergarten Graduation and Christmas Photos.

Once again this year we will be taking Kindergarten Graduation Photos and Christmas photos at the centre. David Pforr Photography will be taking photos on Thursday November 19th at the centre for those families who would like to do so. Further information will be sent home closer to the date.

Covid-19 Procedures

Please ensure you are sanitising upon entry and exit of the centre. Hand sanitiser is available on the front shelf  in the foyer and also outside each room. All of our covid safe practices are still in place.

In relation to illness...we cannot stress enough how important it is to keep your children at home if they are unwell. If you or your children have any signs or symptoms of flu you must stay at home until these symptoms are seen to or cleared by a doctor. Please note that clearances do need to be provided for some illnesses. In addition to this, all of our standard illness and exclusion policies still apply so if your little one has any symptoms of illness please keep them at home until they are well.

 Healthy eating at the centre.

If sending in food/snacks for your child please ensure that these items do not contain nuts- including peanut butter or Nutella spread.

Fruit juice, Cakes, biscuits, lollies, chips are also requested to not be sent as they are not considered to have nutritional value that children's growing bodies require. You will find lots of ideas for healthy snacks on the internet via a Google search. Try researching with your child and decide together what you could send. By involving your child in deciding, they will be more receptive and happier to eat what healthy food you send along.
