January News

Daisy Hill ELC would like to respectfully acknowledge the Yugambeh people, the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live. We also recognise those whose ongoing effort to protect and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures will leave a lasting legacy for future Elders and leaders.

Welcome to the first edition of Daisy Hill ELC news for 2023!

We are so excited to welcome you all to what we know will be an even better year than last!

Some of our Graduating class have been with us since 2018  and some as recent as 2022, either way, we are just so thankful for the time that we have spent with these families and of course, the children. It is such a precious gift to share in the journey of Education and Care of a child, the memories of which stay with you for years to come, so again, We Thank you and Good Luck.

We welcome the new families that are just starting with us. We hope that you enjoy your time with us and we aim to make your time with us as special as possible.

On the 23/1/2023, the children are moving into the classrooms that they will be officially enrolled in for this year.  An email will be sent next week confirming class placement, if you haven't received on already.  We can always try and accommodate, so please come and see me if you are concerned about your child's transition.

We have many exciting events coming up throughout the year so stay tuned for those updates!

Chinese New Year 2023 will fall on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023, starting a year of the Rabbit

We look forward to celebrating and doing lots of fun activities with the children

We aim to offer high-quality programs for children, balancing child-led experiences and intentional teaching by our educators. We deliver engaging experiences through play with children.

I have been having a few similar conversations with families of late in regards to scaffolding children's learning and ensuring that children are well-prepared learners as they move towards prep programs. Trust us, we do.

We are advocates of learning through play. We are regulated by the Early Years Learning Framework and Kindergarten program and this is reflected in our practices. Play is the foundation for children's well-being and emotional strength. Play allows children the opportunity to showcase their outstanding ability for exploration, imagination, creative ability and development.

Play is fun!

We are continuing to collect cans for the children's end of year Christmas party.

If you are able to bring in your unwanted cans, we take them into the recycling centre.

There is a tally of our progress in the foyer.

Can you help?
