Hello Families,

We hope you have all had a lovely July!

We have recently seen some windy, chilly weather and would like to remind all families to ensure you are packing appropriate spare clothes for the weather.  We have also noticed some children forgetting to bring hats along each day.  We do have a sun smart policy which requires children to have a hat for outside play.  If your child does not have a hat, they will be encouraged to stay and play in the shade, on the veranda or other shaded areas.

You may have seen the news recently with some confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Brisbane again.  As this is so close to home, we are reminding everyone to follow our strict health and safety policies and procedures.  We are still following direction from the Australian Government around social distancing, and other cleaning and health guidelines that have been put in place due to COVID-19.

If you or your child are sick with flu-like symptoms, do not attend the Centre until you have been seen by a doctor or been tested for Coronavirus and cleared as not contagious. We are trying to limit the amount of social contact between people entering the centre, so we ask that only one parent or guardian enters the Centre to drop off and pick up their children, and to please only stay for a reasonable amount of time to complete the drop-off and say Goodbye. Also, please ensure to use the hand sanitiser provided upon entering and exiting the Centre.  We ask that you inform the office if your child will be absent due to illness or any other reason.

We will keep all families updated with any new information regarding the pandemic via email.  Please ensure to check your emails regularly.

As book week was due to be held this year from 24th to 28th of August, we decided to hold our book fair for 2 weeks starting from 17th of August to 28th August. The book fair will be open to view, in the foyer of the Centre, from 7:30am - 4:30pm daily. Every book purchased from the book fair will help us raise funds to purchase new books for the children to enjoy in their classrooms. During our celebration of book week we will also be having a dress up day on Tuesday 25th of August, where the children can come dressed as their favourite book character.

Over the 2 weeks of the book fair, we would also like to encourage the children to bring along one of their favourite books for their teacher to read in class at group time. This is a fun way for children to get involved in literacy and share their favourite stories with their friends.

Until next month...
