From the Office

Hello and welcome to all the new families who have just started at the Centre!

We have recently had a lot of new families visiting and starting care with us.  We hope you are all settling in well.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to speak to your child's room Educators or somebody in the front office.

We hope everyone is staying safe and well with winters cold-chill kicking in.  Please remember that we are still following direction from the Australian Government around social distancing, and other cleaning and health guidelines that have been put in place due to COVID-19.

We would like to remind you that if you or your child are sick with flu-like symptoms, please do not attend the Centre until you have been seen by a doctor or been tested for Coronavirus and cleared as not contagious. We are trying to limit the amount of social contact between people entering the centre, so we ask that only one parent or guardian enters the Centre to drop off and pick up their children, and to please only stay for a reasonable amount of time to complete the drop-off and say Goodbye. Also, please ensure to use the hand sanitiser provided upon entering and exiting the Centre.

You may have noticed, our monthly room newsletters will now be posted on Educa for you to view.  If you are not linked to Educa, please see the office so we can get you linked to view all messages and learning stories for your child.  We can have multiple family members linked to your child's profile if you wish to add extra family members to receive the email updates for your child's learning.

Lastly, we have a few upcoming events, so please check the below tabs.  We hope you are all enjoying your time at Doolandella ELC!

Until next time...

Who doesn't love staying in their Pyjamas all day in Winter?  So, for some fun, we are hosting a pyjama day for all children to be able to come dressed in their warm Pyjamas and slippers, and enjoy some fun with their friends and teachers.  This will be held on Wednesday the 22nd of July.  We can't wait!!!

As book week was due to be held this year from 24th to 28th of August, we decided to hold our book fair for 2 weeks starting from 17th of August to 28th August.  Every book purchased from the book fair will help us raise funds to purchase new books for the children to enjoy in their classrooms.  During our celebration of book week we will also be having a dress up day on Tuesday 25th of August, where the children can come dressed as their favourite book character.

Over the 2 weeks of the book fair, we would also like to encourage the children to bring alone one of their favourite books for their teacher to read in class at group time.  This is a fun way for children to get involved in literacy and share their favourite stories with their friends.

Class Photos were recently taken and are off getting printed now.  If you wanted to order photos, now is your last chance.  Please see the office for an order form and have your order in by close of business on Friday 26th June.

Photos will be back over the next 2 weeks.  We will send an email out to inform all families when they can be collected from the office.  If you have any questions about the photos you can call the photo company, Darcy Pforr Photography, directly on  07 3808 1411.
