Welcome to another month of news and to our families who have recently joined us at Doolandella ELC.
Book Library – Take a book & leave a book
The Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) recent data showed children within this area are developmentally vulnerable in the areas of language and cognitive skills. As a result, we thought we would provide our families and community with a book library to assist in developing these skills.
Our new book library is providing family members with opportunities to borrow a book and return it when finished reading with their child. We strongly believe in the importance of reading to children and the benefits of introducing literacy in the early years. Our educators are selecting books with children daily from the library and reading with them in class.
Thank you to the families who have donated books to our library and we hope you continue to enjoy the love of reading with your child. Please email your photos of children selecting a book and you reading with your child at home
Changes to Direct Debit Default Charge
As of today Monday June 13th, 2022 the Default Charge (Rejection Fee) associated with an unsuccessful direct debit payment attempt will be changed to $19.95 Inc. GST. To avoid Default Charges, please ensure you have enough funds available in/on your nominated direct debit account 1 day prior to your scheduled direct debit.
Child Illness & Flu Season
We are coming into cold and flu season and are reminding parents that sick children need to be kept at home. Children coughing, have temperatures or are generally unwell should not be bought into the Centre to protect the wellbeing of other children and staff.
Under 8's Day – Local Schools
Our local schools have invited parents from kindergarten to join them at under 8's day. If your child is attending one of the local schools next year for Prep, this is great opportunity for your child to become familiar with the school environment.
Grand Avenue State School – 24th June (8.45am to 10.45am)
Forest Lake State School – 17th June (9.00am – 10.30am)
Serviceton South State School – 22nd June (9.00am to 10.30am)
