FOO APRIL 2021 NEWS

Hello πŸ˜€

Hi Everyone,

Hope the past few weeks has been treating everyone kindly ?

It has been a busy month that's for sure, what with Easter, School holidays, public holidays, its hard to remember what day it is and when to come isn't it ?

We have one more public holiday for now and things can settle back down a little again.

Please remember if your child is going to be absent to give the centre a call or send an email to let us know, we really appreciate when parents take the time to do this, it helps us to plan our staffing for the day (really helps in situations where we have staff off sick and need to work out replacements etc). It also helps to give extra days to families who may need urgent care, if we know your child isn't coming in, we are able to assist with accommodating their urgent need.

Welcome to all our new families that have started with us over the last month, we are excited to have you here as part of our Footprints Family.

We have said goodbye to a few of our friends this past month too and wish all of them and their families the very best with their next adventures in life. We hope you keep in touch and let us know how you are doing πŸ˜€

 Important notice - allowable absences:

As per the notice posted in Educa message board on 19.04.2021, I want to refresh and remind families again of this message -

It is getting to that time of year where we are getting closer to the end of the financial year and with that allowable absences are starting to get surpassed.

Each child is given 42 allowable absences per year, this includes your holidays and public holidays as well.

Once you go past the 42 allowable absences, you will be charged full fees for days that your children do not attend as Centrelink will not pay CCS for these days.

If you have a medical certificate for those days (once you are past the 42 days) - please bring them in as I can send them through to head office to adjust this.

Please see screen shot example below of where to look on your statements to keep up with how many days your children have had off. See the yellow highlighted information.

I hope this info helps πŸ˜€

Clothing:

As our weather is a bit all over the place at the moment (feels like we are becoming a Melbourne - 4 seasons in one day), please remember to pack spare clothes in your child's bag, so that they, or we can help them to change as needed, according to the temperature/weather.

Refurbishment update:

In the last edition of our newsletter you would recall I mentioned that the centre was due to be painted. This has not happened at this stage as the plan is now to do a big refurbishment of the centre which will of course include repainting. Once I know more about exactly when this will take place, I will pass on the information to you all. Keep an eye out for more information to come.

 Celebrating ANZAC Day:

Each class, Nursery right through to Kindergarten learned about and celebrated ANZAC Day in different ways. From making poppies, to having an ANZAC ceremony. We give thanks to the ANZACS. We will remember them, lest we forget.

Till next month, in the meantime, please remember we are always here to help and are happy to hear any suggestions/feedback you need to share.

With a smile πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
