Centre's Annual ANZAC Ceremony

On Wednesday 26th April, we held our annual centre ANZAC ceremony where we showed respect and gave thanks to those who fought and are still fighting for our country. We learned about ANZAC's and listened to the New Zealand and Australian National Anthems as some children laid wreaths made by the classes.

We then read the ode and had a moments silence as we listed to The Last Post.

Please see our photo gallery below of images from our ceremony.

As always, thank you to those men, women and animals that have sacrificed their lives, or have/are putting their lives on the line to help keep our country safe and be the beautiful free country that it is.

We will remember them, lest we forget.

Did you know -

That women should wear their poppies on their right side.

The red represents blood of those who gave their lives, the black represents the mourning of those who didn't have their loved ones return home and the green leaf represents the grass and crops growing and future prosperity after the war destroyed so much.

The leaf should be positioned at 11 o'clock to represent the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, the time that World War One formally ended.

This was shared by an older gentleman that was worried that younger generations wouldn't understand this and his generation will not be around much longer to teach this.

Session times reminder -

Of late we are noticing that some families are going past their session times, we just want to remind you that upon enrolment all families selected a session time according to their hours of care allocated by Centrelink and these are the hours that your child can attend daily.

For example a 10 hour session is 7.30am to 5.30pm. Drop off to the service should be on or after 7.30am and collection on or before 5.30pm. If you drop off or collect outside these hours then you will charged additional fees (XAP does this automatically). If you need to adjust your session hours, please see Glenda or Catherine.

In saying XAP automatically adds the early and late drop off fees, this can occur if you do not sign your child out. Please remember to sign your child in and out each and every day they attend as it is a legal requirement to do so, if you do not you could miss out on CCS for the day and be charged full fees.

Please also remember that XAP allows you to mark your child absent, it is a great and handy feature, please do not be afraid to use it, it helps us with our planning of the day, the earlier we know the better 😊

Till next month

I will be on annual leave from the 5th May and will return to the centre on Monday the 15th. Miss Catherine will be available to assist you with anything while I am away.

Keep safe,

With a smile 😊

Glenda
