Footprints Sunnybank | August 2018 News

Welcome to another month, they sure are flying by this year aren't they ?! We have been busy as usual here at the centre.

Can you believe that this month on the 17th, Footprints turns 9 years old.  Happy Birthday Footprints.

Please remember that the centre will be closed on Wednesday 15th August for the EKKA show holiday. Are you going to join the crowds, or take advantage of the rest day ? Either way enjoy your day and the centre will re-open on Thursday 16th August at 6:15am as normal.

The past month has seen a big change by way of the CCS come into place. I want to take a moment to thank all of the families for their co-operation with things that needed to be done during the transition period and for their patience during this process. We are now settling into the new CCS system and are hoping that parents are confident with how it all works, if not please do not hesitate to ask any questions no matter how big or small and we will do our best to help you.

Can I remind parents it is important that you are signing your child/ren in and out each and every day that they attend, especially if you are in booked sessions (e.g. 6, 9 or 10 hour sessions).

July saw class photos being taken. I am pleased to let you know that the photos are now back at the centre for your collection. Some fabulous smiles were seen all round during the photo sessions and this shows through in the finished products.

We will be hosting a family portrait fundraiser in September/October, we are in the process of finalising the booking, so please keep your eyes peeled for more information.

With the weather being so up and down at the moment, it is hard to avoid getting sick. If your child is not well, we recommend that you keep them at home, where they will be most comfortable in their recovery. Illnesses can spread quickly and we try to avoid this from occurring, so appreciate your support with this aim to keep illnesses down to a minimum as best as we can.

Miss Sinead is currently undertaking her prac as part of her Bachelor studies and will be away for a total of 6 weeks. The first 4 weeks she is off on prac and the last 2 weeks she is off to Hawaii with her family. A well deserved break. Have fun Miss Sinead and we cannot wait to see you when you come back.

Miss Emma has now returned from maternity leave and is working a couple of days a week, make sure you say a big welcome back to her when you see her next.

Miss Shelly has also returned on a relief basis, now that the heavy part of her studies is complete (she is studying to become a pilot). Make sure you say a big hello to her also.

As you are aware we are looking into updating our playgrounds and have been asking for your feedback, thank you to those families who took time out of their day to share their thoughts and suggestions with us. We very much appreciated it. I will keep you all updated on the process as the information comes to hand.

I am pleased to let you all know that we are in the process of getting additional lighting installed in the car park, so that it wont be so dark for all when coming later in the day. This will be happening over the next few days, please do let me know your thoughts once it is up and running.

As always if there is anything you feel that we could improve upon or introduce, please let us know. Either by dropping a suggestion in the slot in the front counter, email or you can speak with a staff member anytime.

That's the update from the centre for this month,

Till next month,

With a smile :-)

Glenda
