Footprints Sunnybank | Griffith University Research Participation

Footprints is opening up our Senior Classrooms to a research program conducted by Griffith University. We are looking for parents from the Senior Kindy and Kindergarten rooms who are willing to allow their child to participate in this research. The research is in regards to children's early literacy skills, in particular Lower and Upper Case alphabet knowledge and sight words reading and the validity and reliability of an online tablet-based early literacy assessment with receptive and expressive sub tests against traditional early literacy assessment.

Your child would sit with the researcher and play a game, that is the test. Parents would need to fill out a short questionnaire as well. The researchers will provide the centre and parents of children who participate a summary of their findings at the conclusion of the study.

This research has the approval of the Human Ethics Committee at Griffith University (Griffith University ethics reference no. 2018/555.

If you are interested and/or wish to receive more information about this research please see Glenda. Alternatively we have sign up packs available in the Kindergarten room.

Your children would be tested within the next two weeks on a Monday.

Thank you in advance for your support.
