 Parent Meeting - Bush Kindy

I would love if any Kindy Parents would like to support our service to implement the Bush Kindy Program.

I have written policies and developed a risk management plan and would like to sit with a group of parents to discuss what has been developed.

This is an opportunity to suggest change in the policies and support the successful implementation of this program.

Let me know if you are interested.

When: 16 March - 5:15pm start

Centre Photos

Centre photos are next week. All children will be photographed on the day that they attend. Please ensure you collect your payment envelope from the office today.

Jarjum Day

We are excited that on Friday 20 March we will have a Jarjum session for our entire service.

This is a great opportunity for the children to learn about culture and inclusion. This is will be held a little differently - as each room will have an hour session and we will not be combining as an entire service. This allows the presentation to be age appropriate. After the individual sessions we will then have the opportunity to taste some bush tucker with our lunch. (Kangaroo, crocodile, fish etc)

For Afternoon tea we will have damper with native jams. The cost of this experience is $10 per child.

If your child will be attending on Friday 20 March, please make payment to the office no later than Wednesday 18 March

We pay the company cash on the day, after they have conducted a head count. Please make sure payment is made to the office by the due date to allow a smooth transition of this daily experience. We don't have cash on premises so we are unable to make payment on your behalf. If you have any questions, please come and see me.

 Safety Presentation

Kindy Children will be attending a children's safety presentation run by Safe-Tee on 25 March 2020.

This presentation will be held in the service along with the support of our educators.

During the presentation we will be exploring the following concepts in a fun and interactive way.

  • 1. Safe and Unsafe Feelings
  • 2. Safe and Unsafe Secrets
  • 3. Safe and Unsafe People
  • 4. Who is in our safety network?
  • 5. How can we respond when we don't feel safe?
  • 6. What do we do in an unsafe situation?

This presentation is conducted in an age appropriate way where your child will feel safe and supported at all times. The presentations are designed to empower your children and to reduce the risk of harm in the community.

We hope your child enjoys the presentation whilst developing some wonderful life skills along the way. Please feel free to join us on the day.

Dental Education

Junior Kindy and Kindy class will have dental education on the 15 April about:

  • Toothbrushing, Healthy foods, and taking care of our teeth.

It will include Alice McSparkles, a certified Tooth Fairy, singing songs, counting teeth, and lots more..!

First Aid  - Kindy Class

Our Kindy class will be participating in a First Aid Session.

The session runs for 1 to 1.5 hours. The children will learn -

  • How to recognise an emergency
  • How to roll a person into the recovery position
  • How to call '000'
  • Basic bleeding control

They also cover principle 7 of the Victorian Child Safe Standards utilising the 'My underpants rule' Book

Each child will receive an individually named certificate.

Thankyou Tammy
