The children have experiences planned for National Reconciliation Week....next week we are asking for your support.
The Sea of Hands is a major reconciliation community campaign.
The Sea of Hands has become a symbol of the People's Movement for Reconciliation.
Today, the hands symbolise community support for RECONCILIATION, RIGHTS and RESPECT.
Hands will be available in the foyer for you to write your family name or personal messages of support for reconciliation and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Feel free to be creative and add some colour to your Family hand.
Your child will then plant your Family hand in a designated spot later in the day.
Planting a sea of hands is an act of recognition – of identities, cultures and history.
This will be available for the entire week - Monday 29 May - Friday 2 June
The National Quality Standard (NQS) makes it essential for Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services and educators to understand, and help children learn about, the history, culture and contemporary lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
