Another busy month ahead of us We are preparing for our annual Easter hat parade and morning tea, on Wednesday 17th of April at 10.30am. This is your big chance to make a beautiful Easter hat with your child at home, and to have morning tea with your child's class and meet other families.
All of the children have been experiencing learning that is engaging and builds success for life. We invite you as parents to work in partnership with the educators in your child's room to encompass and help guide the curriculum and learning experiences relevant to your child's interests. The experiences will gradually expand the children's knowledge and understanding of the world.
We are always in the process of trying to improve our play spaces for the children, if you have any ideas you would like to share please let us know.
Just a reminder to pack 2-3 sets of spare clothes, due to unpredictable weather changes! This is important especially as the mornings and late afternoon are getting very cold.
Have a great month!
What a busy month we have just had! The babies have explored a lot of sensory play and extended upon this development each day with new and different activities! We have explored texture with sand play, water play, paint and messy play. This month we will follow on from this by creating collage pieces out of many different materials for the children to choose from. This will also challenge their fine motor skills.
We are also working on our colours and shapes, through various interactive experiences, as we have observed the children starting to explore these concepts through play.
The children also have been busy exploring different outdoor play like bike riding, animal play in natural environment, obstacle course, sandpit play, etc developing their creativity, imagination, inventiveness, language, curiosity and gross motor skills.
What a busy time in the 2-5yr room. We have been learning our routine and are also learning to take care of our belongings such as putting our shoes away when we take them off. We have also been preparing for Easter and Anzac Day by creating some beautiful artwork. You can see this displayed in our room.
We are also enjoying practicing our writing using white board markers and the white boards. We have also been in the process of creating a sign in and sign out area for the children. Please encourage them to find their names when they arrive and when they go home and place them in the baskets. We are encouraging the children to recognize their names. We have also started collecting family photos which will go on our family tree. Please remember to bring a family photo if you haven't done so already. Outside we have been enjoying practicing our gross motor skills as we ride around on the bikes. We also love adding water to our sandpit play.
