Welcome to another month of news,

This year is going so fast and because we are half way through the year we would like to invite our parents to give us feedback on how you feel the centre and the staff are going ,as we are always looking at ways to improve within the centre and ourselves. We know that your time is busy but we would appreciate if you could email or write how you are feeling about the centre and staff as we like to make goals to achieve within the year or  extend to the following year. Thank you all for the support you give us.

Important information for child care subsidy

Action required: Complete your Child Care Subsidy assessment now

Time is running out please complete your assessment now by signing into your Centrelink online account through myGov.

If you complete the assessment by 23 September 2018 your Child Care Subsidy entitlement can be back paid to 2 July 2018, subject to eligibility.

After 23 September 2018 you will have to submit a new claim for Child Care Subsidy with Centrelink. New claims can only be backdated for a maximum of 28 days.

The assessment is quick and easy to do with most information already populated by Centrelink. Follow these simple steps:

  • Sign into your Centrelink online account through myGov
  • Select the Complete your Child Care Subsidy assessment task
  • Work through the steps to give new information and confirm your current details.

You must complete all steps in the online form, including confirming your enrolment for each of your children attending our centre. The Department of Human Services has provided this guide to help families complete the Child Care Subsidy assessment.

If you have disputed an enrolment previously, you need to go online and confirm the updated enrolment details.

The assessment will only appear if you received a payment for approved care before 2 July. If you can't see the assessment you'll need to submit a new claim for Child Care Subsidy.

If you've already completed your assessment or a new claim, make sure you've confirmed your child's enrolment details with us. Child Care Subsidy can't be paid until you do this.

Sunflowers starting to grow
Placing pictures to know what is growing
Children planting the seeds

Over the last few months we have been discussing healthy eating and how we should look after our bodies, these discussions lead to children wanting to plant seeds to cook the vegetable for their lunch but also a flower for their room and their teacher, this was so lovely as the children wanted to do this.

Children chose which vegetables they wanted to plant , and chose the sunflower because of the name as they decided it would grow faster because of the sun as that was in the name.

Children planted the seeds and are watering every day ,they have seen sprouts from the sunflower and are so excited that they talk about them all day.The children will continue to tend the garden and vegetable area watching for new growth each day.
