April Newsletter 2021

April has been a very busy month for everyone. With the arrival of the easter bunny at the very beginning of April, the children enjoyed many easter activities. Due to the snap 3 day lock down, the easter egg hunt was delayed, however, the excitement and enthusiasm was contagious when all the children joined together for the celebrations.

We also celebrated Earth day this month. The children learned about the importance of saving electricity and also about how we can look after our earth, by recycling and also by taking care of living things. The pre-schoolers discussed the importance of our environment and also about planting trees and flowers.

Anzac day was also a significant day where the children were involved in many conversations and listened to stories about our soldiers and our Anzacs. The children made poppies and also enjoyed making Anzac biscuits with their friends.

The painting is nearly finished and we are very excited about how our centre looks. We are overwhelmed at how great it looks and we are slowly putting everything back up and in its place. They are just finishing the outside verandas and this should be done this weekend.

Please do not forget that if your child is unwell, please do not bring them to day care. If your child has a temperature, vomiting or diarrhoea, please do not bring them to kindy for at least 24 hours. Children at not allowed to come to child care from 24 hours after their last sign of symptoms.

Centrelink are in the process of rebalancing the CCS for the last financial year. This means they will be recalculating all payments which they have made for the last 2 years. Please ensure you confirm your income for the 2019-2020. If you have not confirmed your income by the 30th June 2021, your CCS may stop and you will have to pay full fees. This often will happen without notice and you will incur a debt. You can do this by either lodging your tax return, or logging into your centrelink account and advising a non-lodgement of your tax return. Please discuss your own personal situation with centrelink or log into your mygov account to see what is required in your individual situation.

Mother's day is approaching and the children have been very busy organising some special surprises for some very special people in their lives. We are planning a mother's day afternoon tea on Friday 7th May at 2:45pm. We will send out invitations, but save the date and all mums are welcome to come and share in a special afternoon tea celebration with their children here at day care.

Don't forget that this Monday is also a public holiday and our centre will be closed. And for all those families celebrating the Orthodox Easter, Happy Easter to you all!!
