We would like to give a huge welcome to all of our new families who have joined our centre over the last month. We have had a wonderful start to the year and are so pleased that all of the children have settled well into their rooms and their routines.
We have been busy already with many exciting things happening here at Little Darlings. We have all been very busy creating exciting things from recycled items. Sharan made some awesome seats out of old crates and artificial grass. The children are loving them, especially for a quiet space outside to read stories. We are also in the process of creating some hanging gardens also made from recycled crates. Abbi made a wonderful box and glues stones and trees to make a small play space. Even the pre-schoolers are being creative using their collected collage items to make very exciting creations. It is so wonderful to see everyone is coming up with fabulous ideas to use many of our recycled materials.
All the children were very excited to have a special visit from the ambulance service. Miss Bronwyn brought her ambulance into our playground and all the children very eagerly listened to her explain to the children different parts of the ambulance. She showed the children the stretcher and also taught the children about different emergencies and calling 000. The children were also able to go into the ambulance and sit on the chair. This visit was very much appreciated by all the staff at Little Darlings and we are very grateful for the ambulance service to take their time to come and help our children learn more about what they do, and the importance of knowing to call 000 in an emergency.
We have also been very excited to be using our new program EDUCA. Thank you to all our parents who have accepted our invitation via emails. If you have not received an invitation please let me know and we will add you immediately. This is a great way to jump on line daily to see what your child has done today, individual and group learning stories as well as many photos. This is also a great space for you to have parent input, where you are able to comment on our stories, as well as create your own story which we can incorporate into our curriculum, based on your child's interests. This could be a special family or cultural celebration or even a trip to the park, or a story about something found in the garden. Any input is welcome.
March is a busy month, and together we will celebrate St Patrick's day on Friday 15th March, as well as Harmony Day which we will celebrate on Thursday 21st March.
Thank you everyone for all your constant support always
