November has been an incredibly fun and exciting month with many celebrations.

We started off the month celebrating the centres 15th year anniversary of being open. The past 15 years have been full of wonderful stories and friendships. We look forward to another 15 and many more years in our beautiful community. Thank you to all our families who make our centre so beautiful.

In honour of NAIDOC week, we celebrated and acknowledged the significant culture and history of aboriginal and Torres strait islander peoples. Some of the children made echidnas out of moulding clay. The significance of this, is that the Aborigines called Mount Gravatt 'kaggur-mabul', meaning 'place of echidna' or 'echidna rests here. The children have enjoyed listening to Dreamtime stories as well as making instruments out of seed pods and enjoyed dancing to traditional music.

Finally, we then celebrated the Diwali festival. We all had a fantastic time dancing and celebrating the Hindu festival of lights symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and the goddess of happiness and good fortune.

HAPPY DIWALI EVERYBODY!!

Our class photo day was also squeezed into our busy month. The photos are now back in the office and will be handed out for you when we see you next.

Our pre-schoolers have been busily preparing for their graduation ceremony, and are getting very excited about their transition to school next year.

We are also organising the rolls for 2021, and please ask the parents to fill in the re-enrolment forms as soon as possible, as spaces are filling up fast. Even if you are returning and wanting the same days etc, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can finalise the rolls.

As it is getting hotter, please ensure that each day your child has a hat and water bottle. Also please send spare clothes so we can enjoy water play.
