May Newsletter 2017

Welcome to our families.  Wow how this year is flying by. We are nearly at June.  I hope that all our Mum's, Grandma's, Nannas and the Dad's that step in for Mum, had a wonderful Mother's Day and got spoilt with presents and lots of LOVE.  Thank you to the Mum's that attended our Morning Tea.  The children enjoyed showing you how they climb on the fort, shooting baskets in the basket ball hoop, balancing on the beams and riding the bikes.

It's that time of the year again SMILE.  We have centre photo's here at the centre on Tuesday 30th of May and Wednesday 31st.  If that is not your child's day Don't Panic you can bring them in from 9am and have their photo taken.  Envelopes are in your child pocket, if you have misplaced yours I have spares in the office.

OUR NEW MUD KITCHEN

The nursery children have been busy exploring new different textures and sensory exploration. We have also discovered musical awareness with our musical interactive toys and instruments.

The children got messy and creative making their Mother's Day gifts. A Big thank you to our mums that came along to our very special Mother's Day morning tea. We hope all our mums had a very special day on Sunday.

The babies have been busy exploring their identities and Engaging with each other through play and our environments.

Please have a look at our word kites, as we say new words, they are added to the kite along with the date.

Until next time ,

KINDY ROOM NEWS

To our families

The children in the Kindy Room have been enthusiastically engaging within our 'Circle of friends' experiences which promote social behaviours and encourage sharing/taking turns.  Musical perspectives are regularly incorporated within these group experiences.

The kindy program emphasises the 5 Learning Outcomes while supporting individual children's learning and development

We intentionally integrate learning experiences and play activities to promote potential learning and development.

Our sensory Exploration experiences have been providing opportunities to investigate and identify open-ended resources.  We acknowledge the children's creativity and program repetitive experiences to provide opportunities to co-construct their own learning.  Our program has promoted numbers as well as musical perspectives and language.

Thank you to all of our families who have provided Family feedback relating to their child's learning and development.  We appreciate your Family Input.

Please provide a family photo to promote your child's sense of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

Thank you

Miss Sharon

Pre-Prep Room News

A big Hello to all of our families.  As you all know Miss Laura has been away on placement.  Miss Maria has done a wonderful job in teaching us.  We have covered our number and letter recognition working closely with our numbers.  We will be covering our shapes in depth. We are really good at our days of the week, months of the year and our weather that we cover in our morning group time.   We have also been learning about road safety and how important it is to hold an adults hand while crossing the road.

We will be starting our Spanish lessons.  We now have the books to go along with our language and literacy program that will run in conjunction with Yugumbir State School and a speech pathologist, called Read It Again.
