December Newsletter

Well here we are in December, the end of the year is upon us and Christmas is just around the corner. It has been a very different kind of year in 2020 with many ups and downs but we have made the most of every opportunity and have powered through it together. We truly are a community family at here at Cannon Hill.

It is this time of year that we say goodbye to many of our Preschool families as our children head off on holidays to prepare for primary school next year. Our Graduation night was wonderful and we would like to thank all of our parents for your cooperation in following our Covid safe plan for the night. It went off very smoothly and we have had a lot of positive feedback regarding the controlled restrictions on guests which we will be considering for future graduation events. We always love to see our Preschool children return at the beginning of the year and show us their uniforms and tell us about their first few weeks of Prep so please feel free to drop in and visit us in the new school year. Good Luck PreSchoolers!

In 2020 we have said goodbye to quite a few staff members for a number of different reasons. We generally do not have much staff turn over at all but this year has not been typical and our current world pandemic has set everything into a spin and affected many people in different ways whether it be emotionally, physically or financially. For those who have moved on from our centre, we wish them well. This has led us to welcome quite a few new fresh faces as well whom you have more than likely already met and are looking forward to a bright future within our centre. Our staffing for 2021 is as follows

Nursery-Miss Gabby and Miss April

Toddlers-Miss Sarah and Miss Lauren

Junior Kindy-Miss Taylor and Miss Ellyse

Senior Kindy- Miss Bithi and Miss Dianne

Preschool- Miss Odette and Miss Kan

Multi Aged Educators: Miss Kathryn, Miss Pam, Miss Debra, Miss Priya, Miss Amy(centre cook also)

What's new in 2021?

We are excited to announce that we will be having our centre meals provided by Kids Gourmet Food beginning January 4th 2021. Kids Gourmet Foods provide nutritious healthy meals to early childhood centres. We will also be introducing meals in the nursery as of 11th January. All allergy and intolerance requirements are catered to for individual children. For more information you can visit their website

Our centre Christmas party was absolutely fabulous and we all had so much fun dressing in our Christmas outfits and watching the Elf Pandemonium show. Our Preschool and Senior Kindy children entertained us with performances and we even had a visit from Santa with some special gifts for everyone. We couldn't have all of our parents in attendance this year but we are hoping next Christmas we will be able to welcome you all back in to celebrate with us.

Vacancies and referrals: We still have vacancies in some rooms for 2021. If you are looking to pick up any extra days please inquire at the office. Our referral incentive runs throughout the year for our current families. If you refer a family who enrolls at our centre then you can be eligible for 2 weeks free fees. Please see Kelly or Sarah for more information.

Friendly Reminders:

New Booking for 2021: Please note that new bookings for 2021 start week beginning 25th January

Naming Belongings: Please remember to name all of your childs belongings so we can locate them easier if misplaced. We would also advise that parents do not send their children to the centre in brand new clothes or shoes that may be misplaced or become dirty. It is always a handy idea to have a "kindy": wardrobe at home with older clothes especially for their time at the centre.

We would like to wish all of our families a very Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. See you in 2021
