December News

Wow! Here we are at the end of the year already! Christmas is just around the corner and this will be our last newsletter for 2017.

Thank you to all who attended our centre Christmas party last Friday night. It was AMAZING! We hope you all had a wonderful time. If you have any photos that you would like to share please send them through to the centre as we were so busy our staff didn't get many photographs at all. We would love to see and share your snapshots. If you would still like to purchase your children's Christmas photos, they are still up on the walls at the front entrance and are just $1 each.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our charities this year. It is so lovely to see everyone getting into the spirit of giving. The Making A Difference people came to collect the food hamper donations today and were very appreciative. Our "Its in the bag" campaign was also extremely successful with 19 bags donated earlier in the month.

Staffing

Over the Christmas and New Year break, many of our staff will be on annual leave. Our classes will be combined age groups with Senior Kindy and Pre School combining and Nursery and Toddlers together on some days. Please place your children's bags in their normal rooms and staff will organise combinations later in the morning so there is no confusion.

Friendly Reminders

Fees: Please remember that accounts still need to be kept up to date over the holiday period. Please ensure your direct debits are organised for your fees to be deducted. Declined payments will incur an ezi-debit fee and will be re-run again in the next 24 hours. Unfortunately unpaid accounts will be suspended which puts your child's placement at risk.

Kiosk: While we await our new tablets we have a laptop for signing in and out. Please ensure you are signing in and out every day your child attends as full fees will apply to children who are not signed in correctly. If you have missed a sign in/out you will receive a confirmation message upon your next login. Please hit the "confirm all" button to continue.

Sun Safety: Could all parents please ensure that their children are dressed in clothes with sleeves and backs to protect their skin from the sun. Also don't forget your hat! :)

2018

Just a reminder that all new days and rooms for children begin week of 22nd January when school starts back. If you have questions regarding your child's new room please feel free to see Kelly or room staff to inquire.

Parents of children who are moving from Toddlers to Junior Kindy will need to supply nappies every day as nappies are only provided in our Nursery and Toddler rooms.

Children moving from Junior Kindy to Senior Kindy will be required to supply underwear as we have no change facilities in our older end. Many of the Junior Kindy children have been toilet training and doing very well.

Parents of children moving into the Pre-school room are required to fill out and return a "Kindergarten Acknowledgement form and supply a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport. If you have not received one of these please see Kelly in the office.

Until next year on behalf of all the staff at Cannon Hill Early Learning Centre, Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year
