February 2022 Newsletter - Kidz Magic Capestone

Hi Families,

Welcome to our February 2022 newsletter!

A very big welcome to all our new families who have recently joined us.

We look forward to getting to know you and your little one and welcoming you into our Kidz Magic family.

Loads has already been happening and we hope you have enjoyed seeing all these moments on our Facebook page and Educa posts.

If you haven't yet accepted the Educa invitation, we encourage you to do so to ensure your able to keep up to date with all the happenings within your child's classroom.

Excursion – Our Kindergarten 2 classroom had their first outing for 2022 this month as they headed over to the Capestone Lake. This excursion lined up perfectly as we have been learning all about our community and what is close by to our Kidz Magic centre. The children spent some time at the playground with a yummy picnic lunch and took turns gazing at the lake and painting what they saw. Google Maps has been fun to explore too! As the year progresses we hope to be able to add a few more experiences like this so stay tuned for any upcoming events as we are always welcoming parent helpers also.

Vacancies – Our centre vacancies are almost full for 2022. If you are interested in picking up any additional days please touch base with reception so we can look at this for you.

If you are an existing family and have your next little one on our waitlist for future care we are asking you to touch base in the next few weeks to advise of your future requests to ensure we have all the information correct for you J

Car Park – Our car park is getting extremely busy and with the back empty block currently blocked off to hold equipment and construction works we are trying to ease the pressure on the busy drop off/pick up periods.

We ask that you please ensure you park well within your lane. That the several parks in front of the front door are used for quick drop off/pick up parking and that if you plan to park here for the day to utilise street parking or the far back car parks.

We are also sharing our carpark now with the wonderful new shop which has opened up next door so we ask that you be mindful that we are busier than normal also.

Child Restraints – A very important reminder that ALL children under the age of 7 years must be safely secured into a 5 point harness car seat at all times. Please ensure your child is buckled up correctly into their chair using the car seat harness as they arrive and depart our service.

House Keeping Reminders – Below is a few things of importance we would like to remind our families:

-Please ensure you are signing in/out each day that you attend. If you need assistance please ask one of our team members and we will be able to support

-Please close the classroom doors behind you and ensure no children follow you in to classrooms without an educator

-Packing a water bottle, sheets, spare clothes and a hat each day is a must

-Please notify us if your child is unwell

-Please apply sunscreen on your child on arrival each morning. We have loads of sunscreen located at any of our sunscreen stations

-Please label your child's belongings

-Our breakfast bar finishes at 8am and morning tea is at 9/9:30am. We ask that you please arrive by 9am each morning so we can start our days activities

Looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.

Please let us know if you have any questions along the way.

Hayley and the Kidz Magic Team.

Welcome to February in Nursery 1.

To start off we just want to welcome all our new babies and their families who started the end of
January, our babies have all settled into their new environments and have build those strong
connection with us as educators as they feel safe, secure, and supported as we attend to their needs
as individuals.

It has been a joyful time over the last couple of weeks getting two know all our children individually,
as they are all comfortable in their surroundings so has those little personalities appeared which
brings so much joy to watch each day.

This month we have been exploring sensory play in all different kinds of forms to help and
encourage the children learn through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. This also
builds nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills.
Some of our children are already started to develop their language skills with babbling sounds or
words to express their feelings and emotions.

We would like to thank all our parents for their support and if you have any suggestions on your
child's development and learning and feel you can contribute, please let us know so we can achieve
the best outcomes for our children.
Please could we ask our families to email Hayley a family photo so we can expand and create a
family wall for our children.

Hello and Wunya families,

This month we have been practicing prewriting shapes rectangle, oval, square and triangle and revied them all also Miss Tabi has been teaching us colours and shapes in English and Persian.

We have been learning about clouds and rainbows and doing lots of craft about them, talking about where the sun goes when it is cloudy and where the water comes from in the clouds and doing art activities with clouds and rainbows. We have enjoyed messy play with Shaving cream, making playdough, glue painting.

Pre kindy children participated in their first cooking experience for the year, we made pizzas we all had turns in adding the ingredients and mixing the dough for the base then adding the sauce and toppings, Miss Dani took them to the over to cook and we ate them with our lunch they were so yummy.

We have started a fish tank we currently have water and plants in there ready to add the fish.On wednesdays we will have Zumba sessions in the outside yard ran by Miss Dani and Miss Mariela

Thanks,
Miss Amy, Miss Dani, Miss Tabi, Miss Charmaine and Miss Ness

Wunya Kindergarten One families.

In Kindy we focus on Play based assessment and through this run our program accordingly. Playtime
is a vital part of a child's development. It's about cognitive, social, physical, and emotional learning.

This past month has seen us really develop with our routine and relationships. We are developing
positive relationships with our peers and teachers; we are even showing great transitions from home
to kindy. Separation Anxiety is a normal part of development from about eight months of age. It can
take some time for our kindy friends to feel safe and secure in our environment and there are some
things we can help:

- Spend time the new place together before separating.
- Talk about Kindy with you child.
- Inform your child when you are leaving and when you will return.
- Settle with an enjoyable activity before you leave.
- Say goodbye to your child briefly
- Keep a relaxed and happy look on your face when you're leaving.
- Please avoid criticising or being negative about the separation difficulty.

To assist with this, we read the story the 'Invisible String'. This story is a tool for coping with all kinds
of separation anxiety, loss, and grief. In this relatable and reassuring contemporary classic, a mother
tells her two children that they're all connected by an invisible string. "That's impossible!" the
children insist, but still, they want to know more: "What kind of string?" The answer is the simple
truth that binds us all: An Invisible String made of love. Even though you can't see it with your eyes,
you can feel it deep in your heart, and know that you are always connected to the ones you
love. Does everybody have an Invisible String? How far does it reach? Does it ever go away? This
heart-warming picture book for all ages explores questions about the intangible yet unbreakable
connections between us and opens up deeper conversations about love. After reading this story we
create heart with process art and talked about how even though we are apart from the ones we love
we are always connected. We then mind mapped who we love and who our hearts are connected
to.

As we have been focusing this term on "I am Special, I am Me", we began to investigate not only
ourselves but our families. We read and talked about how each family is different and even though
we are all different we are all connected through love. We then had the opportunity to draw each of
our families and then we have hung the wonderful artwork up in home corner and look forward to
all the conversations that will develop from these.

This past month we have been explore music and movement with our new class sets of musical
instruments. Music can benefit your child in many areas – languages, maths, concentration, and
social skills, just to name a few. Through engaging with our egg shakers, the children have been able
to explore and enhance their brain function. Musical activities (such as playing an instrument,
singing, or just listening to music) stimulate the brain, and this brain workout leads to improved
brain structure with the formation of neural connections. We have also been dancing and singing a
lot and our favourite song to date is a Tooty Ta. All the children love copying the moves and actions
and especially when they get to poke their tongues out.

This month for Literacy and numeracy we have been learning and reviewing A, S, T and I. Through
focusing on the letter sounds we have been able to use these basic four sounds to begin to make
basic CVC words. We are all showing great memory recall as we sing the jolly phonics songs to help
us remember the letter sounds. We have also been focusing on letter formation and through this
pencil grip. Children are required to master pencil grip to be able to write quickly and without
getting a sore hand. Fine motor skills are important in being able to strengthen the muscles in the
fingers and hands. Activities like playdough, pegs, spraying water bottles, etc are just some of the
ways we have been working on developing their muscles. Numeracy has been shown to be a keen
interest for a lot of our kindy friends and through this they are beginning to demonstrate great one
to one correspondence and number recognitions.

We have had a great time so far this year and are looking forward to more fun and learning as the
term continues.

Love, The Kindy One Team.

Wunya families,

We had a beautiful excursion to the local lake last week which was a wonderful success. Check out the office display of our art and photos and the remaining art and photos on the back wall of our room. Stay tuned for our next excursion coming soon!
