February 2023 Newsletter - Kidz Magic Capestone

Wunya Kidz Magic families

This month we have transitioned well into our new rooms and welcomed many new families into our service. From our Kidz magic family to yours we welcome you and invite you all to share your ideas, culture, stories and ask that you come to us at any time to talk if you need.

We recently help a community connection event at our centre with a coffee van and sausage sizzle this was a great opportunity for us to connect with the families and get some much-needed feedback on topics important to our early childhood sector. I thank you for your time with this and we value all feedback as this helps us on our reflective journey as educators within this industry.

Did you know that pants aren't only beneficial to the environment but they also offer children a variety of opportunities to interact with the world around them and learn new skills. From colour identification when little to planting seeds and tending to them as they grow, the benefits of plants are endless. Some plants have a range of different textures for children to touch and explore, including:

Wunya Families,

This month, we welcome Luke and Harlow to our room. Hello Luke and Harlow!

We would like to extend our thank to the parents who attended our Parents and Guardians Meeting. During the meeting we discussed about our routine, program of the year and also additional information about some important links of developmental milestones. For the ones who weren't be able to attend, we have the information bundle to take home. Feel free to come and see the room educators for any questions and additional needs.

This month we packed the children activities with sensory play, working on a little project such as our interactive display-the sound boxes, risk-play big yard playtime and exploring nature such as barn animal visit, sand pit in which we found a worm that the children were fascinated to discover and trees around us.

Friendly reminder to take bottles home(both milk bottle and drink bottle) to ensure they are washed in daily basis. Thank you.

Welcome to the Pre Kindergarten Newsletter for Feburary

This month we have focused on Spanish, Farsi and Hindu with Miss Mariela, Miss Tabi and Miss Dishu, with the children learning colours, numbers and letters in the three languages. We are very proud to have such a wealth of knowledge and culture here at Kidz Magic Capestone. Alongside this we have been focusing on letters and phonics in readiness for pre writing shapes.

The children have been doing some learning around animals with Miss Mariela with dance and songs, mathematics with Miss Tabi and learning about weather systems with Miss Amy. Recently we have moved onto art and creativity, using one of Monet's waterlilly paintings to inspire discussion and colour mixing.

Thank you,

Miss Amy, Miss Tabi, Miss Mariela, Miss Dishu, Miss Olivia, Miss Claire and Miss Charmaine

 Kindy 1 Newsletter Feb 2023

This month we have continued to look at our inquiry based theme of All about me. We have explored what makes us special, where wenlive, what we look like and what we can do! Our self portraits fruit faces and drawing of our homes were a way to express ourselves and learn about each other. To make our own works of art we have used our creative skills and incorporated shapes, colours, lines, and visuals to tell a story about us and our families. Using a range of media and drawingtools, we have also begun to make our own creations using recycled art and craft items.

This month we also enjoyed celebrating World Whale Day, and a farm animal incursionhere at Kindy.

This month

Our focus shapes, this have been the hearts, circles andshapes. We have identified different places we might see these shapes in our environment and started exploring their attributes, what they look like, how they look similar, what they remind us of.

Our phonics focus so far this term have been the letters a, s, t and i;and the sounds we can hear. We are learning to recognise and produce. We also started making and writing these letters shapes.

Physical aspects of the program have been keeping us active and busy outside. We had fun with hula hooping, balance and cubby house creations. Its been a wonderful learning

 Wunya families,

This month we have focused on settling into our routines and learning and understanding our special Kindy expectations and all the things we will do to get us ready for prep next year.
We have been having discussions around our identity and sense of self and how special our families are and how different our families are.
As the the term continues, we will be covering our focus letters, numbers and shapes. Please refer to the learning wall to see what we are up to.
Next term we will begin a show and share session in the afternoons, we will send home more info about this in the coming weeks.
