January 2021 Newsletter - Kidz Magic Capestone

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to our very first edition of our 2021 Monthly News.

Last week saw our very last Kindergarten 2020 graduate families finish up care with us after spending the year within our Kindergarten program. We hope that their transition into Prep is already going well and wish them and their families all the very best for their schooling years ahead.
January and February are the months that allow us to welcome our many new families into the service for a busy year ahead. We extend the biggest welcome to each of you and hope you enjoy your time with us.
A few reminders for families are below:

  • Each family on enrolment should receive a set up invitation for Educa. This is our online platform for communicating about your child's time in care with us. If you have not received an e-mail from Educa by your second day please let us know and we can support with this.
  • We ask that families ensure children are dropped off to commence their days by 9:30am/10am at the latest each day. Our morning activities commence by 10am for each classroom and it's also a wonderful opportunity for children to explore classrooms during our indoor/outdoor programs.
  • Signing in/out each morning on arrival and departure are vital. If families have other contacts collecting/dropping off their children we ask that you ensure they are set up correctly using their own sign in details and not that of yours so that we can accurately determine who is accessing our service each day.
  • A Cereal Breakfast is available in the centre reception each morning between the hours of 6:15am - 7:45am. Please help yourself each morning if your child is requiring a drop off breakfast meal.
  • Please ensure you have a couple of sets of clothing available within your child's bag in case a change of clothes is required. Labelling your belongings is the absolute best way for our team to help keep track of things. We ask that you send your child to day care is suitable 'play clothing' that they are able to easily climb, roll, jump, sit and run in. We also have messy play and art experiences within each classroom daily so clothing that is safe to come home messy is always required.

For 2021 we have our extra curricular activities available for children from 2.5years/3years of age. Kindy Tennis, Soccer, Martial Arts are our available activities.

Both of our Kindergarten Programs will also have access to a Music Program and Kinetic Kids Program throughout the week.

If you have any questions along the way we ask to touch base with your room Lead Educators to see myself in reception or via e-mail at any time.
Looking forward to a wonderful year ahead.

Thank you very much,

Hayley and the Kidz Magic Team.

Please be informed our 2020 menu is valid until further notice.

Welcome back to the start of a brand new year. As we begin this journey why not start with a new routine.

Take3 is a simple idea that will help you stay environmentally conscience while you are out and about. The aim is to pick up 3 pieces of rubbish when you are out and about at the beach, park, on a walk or anywhere you go.

As you see the rubbish pick up 3 pieces (more if you can) and put it in your closes bin. You will very quickly start to feel good about this effort as you see the difference you are making. You could even make this a fun family game by seeing who can get the most.

Miss Laura

Welcome to Nursery 1's first newsletter for 2021. We have had a slow start to the year with only a few of our babies starting. The next few weeks we will have a lot more of our new babies starting.

The first few weeks of January we were joined with Nursery 2. We have now welcomed Eddie, Karina and Fi Fi into our room which is very exciting. Next week we will be welcoming Kian, Sahana, Olivia and Mayra, then the week after Olive.

The first month or so of daycare, the importance is on building trusting relationships with the key educators in the room which is myself Miss Tracy, Miss Claudia and Miss Raman. We do this simply by being with the babies, sitting with them, comforting them and playing with them. Children, especially babies need to have that relationship with their key educators in order to be able to develop. It affects all parts of a babies development, social and emotional, gross and fine motor. Having that secure relationship gives babies the confidence to explore their world, knowing that they have that safe place/person to come back to.

The first few days, even weeks of daycare can be hard on both parents and the babies. Some babies settle really quickly keeping their same routine as at home and settling with their educators, where others can take a bit longer to settle. There's no 'answer' to how long it should take, so please don't be concerned if your baby takes a little bit longer than others.

I look forward to meeting the rest of our friends, as well as any parents I haven't yet met. Please don't hesitate to come and talk to me anytime. There will be a roster up in the room that has mine and Miss Claudia's shifts so you can see at anytime what shift we are on that day.

Miss Tracy, Miss Claudia, Miss Raman and Miss Swetha

Welcome to the New year. The children are settling into the Toddler room so well, we are so fortunate to have most of our children from last year which has made the transition so much easier.

The main difference to last year is we now have our own playground which the children are absolutely loving. Every day they are finding new experiences to explore and keeping very busy.

Some parents were concerned that the transition from cot to floor mats may have been an issue, but I am pleased to report they have all adjusted really well.

Some of the goals we have for this year are getting the children used to wearing their hats in readiness for when they move to the large playground. We have pockets on the wall near the lockers which you can keep your child's hat in if you wish. We are also teaching the children to place their food scraps into a tub after meals and their plate into a separate tub. So far, they are doing really well and have learnt so quickly.

If you haven't already returned the "All About Me" forms, could you return them when you can. Thank you to our parents who have already done so. We use the information on these forms to work out what goals we would like to work on throughout the year.

Please feel free to bring in sudocream for nappy changes and/or mosquito spray if you wish.If you could name all sheets, drink bottles, hats and shoes that would be wonderful as we are finding some of the children have similar belongings to others in the room.

A few parents have become confused about where to place the drink bottles of a morning and have accidently placed them in the trolley outside of our room. This trolley belongs to Senior Toddler room, we have a black basket on our bench where you can place the bottle or if we are outside it will be in our playground.

Thank you for all of the positive feedback we have had so far, and we look forward to lots of fun this year.As well as myself and Ms Sandra our other educators you will see in our room are Ms Manita, Ms Olivia and Ms Priya. Please feel free to speak to us about any concerns.…… until next month

Ms Liz, Miss Sandra, Miss Olivia, Miss Manita and Miss Priya

Wunya families and welcome to the Senior Toddlers 1 room,

If I haven't had the chance to welcome you into the ST1 room, I would love to take this opportunity to welcome you into our room.

We are looking forward to helping your child grow throughout this year.

We have the permanent three educators within our room Miss Mel (lead educator) alongside Miss Luna and Miss Mariela.

We are currently settling into the room marvellously.

This month we have focused on engaging our little friends into a smooth transition.

We are also focusing on sitting on the group time mat, counting, phonics, the alphabet, colours and shapes.

We also started smiley minds which is a meditation program focused on specific age groups. Our friends are absolutely loving this.

Can I please stress that all items are clearly marked.

We still have a lot of sheets, bottles, shoes and drink bottles unmarked.

I have attached name tags to your child's bag to help make it easier for any staff to locate your child's bag quickly. If these become lost or your child is missing one please let me know ASAP and I'll create a new one for them.

With any bottles, can they please be placed in the fridge, clearly labelled and your child's name written on the board attached to the front of the fridge.

Our friends will also be starting a Spanish lesson with Miss Mariela on Thursday mornings and learning Maori with Miss Mel.

If you have any questions, concerns or feedback please feel free to approach any of our rooms staff members, write it in the communication book located under the eat/ sleep chart.

We look forward to spending the year nurturing, encouraging and supporting your child's growth.

Miss Mel, Miss Luna, Miss Mariela, Miss Alida, Miss Dishu and Miss Prema

Wunya families,

Welcome to Senior Toddler Two 2021! I am so excited to spend the next year with you all.

This month our senior toddlers have started to develop wonderful relationship with our Educators.

We kicked off our year with a variety of experiences for the children. Each fortnight we change up what our focus learning will be. This moth we explored the letter A and B, the number 1 and 2, the colour orange & the colour green and our shapes the triangle and the rectangle.

Over the next few months we will be focusing further on our self-help skills and independence. I have had a few families enquire about toilet training, this can be such a tricky time for all. If you are ready to start this journey at home and would like us to continue this when your child is here, we are more than happy to support and help in anyway we can, please feel free to discus with our educators.

We have been discussing what a toilet is, what are undies and why we use the toilet. We have been reading "Why I need a potty" to the children at least once a day and then discussing the book. We encourage parents to bring lots of changes of clothes (clearly labeled with your child's name on it please).

This year we are going to work on reducing our carbon foot print by really focusing on a sustainable classroom. We started our "going green" by decorating our very own wet bags. The children have been decorating some pieces of calico and with the plastic bags our room have been collecting, they will be upcycled into the waterproof lining for the bags. Having these wet bags we can reduce the amount of plastic waste going into landfill. If you have any bread bags or bags similar in texture that would like to donate that would be amazing!!

I'm very excited to inform you all that Miss Laura is going to continue with her AUSLAN sign language lessons every week and our lovely Miss Tomomi will be teaching the children Japanese.

The children have really taken to our home corner and "cooking" for their peers, we are going to have a "cooking day" each week to promote their interests in home corner.

We also have introduced some mindful meditation and yoga in our routine. The children have responded well to the meditation and yoga. It is such a wonderful way to get the children all settled before rest time.

Welcome to Pre Kindergarten 1 for 2021

We have been spending this January getting to know each other, supporting the children with our daily rhythm and watching them explore the environment.

The children are interested in the home corner with all the blankies, bottles, dolls and kitchen equipment. They are loving the animals with the velvets, stables and trees. The dolls house with is small furniture to place. The junior engineer set to build with and the children have just discovered the playsilks to dance and move with.

The children have been engaging with phonics cards during group time and we have been singing 5 cheeky monkeys with Clarence the Crocodile. We have been practicing our colour recognition and numbers too. We are starting to talk about feelings and manners.

Tabi, Dani, Dishu, Charmaine and I are very excited to see how the year progresses!

Miss Amy, Miss Tabi, Miss Dani, Miss Dishu and Miss Charmaine

Welcome to a new year of 2021, what a great beginning we have had so far. Hope you all have enjoyed some time off over the Christmas break and the unfortunate break with Covid-19. We have said our farewells to our Kindy children from class 2020 and supporting them into a new chapter of their growth starting prep. We have also welcomed our new Kindergarten children for class 2021, this can be a challenging time for them and we strive to be our very best and achieve their needs each day.

My name is Miss Tahlia and I have been the Kindergarten Assistant Educator with Miss Cathy last year, she has welcomed Olivia into her life and we are looking forward to seeing her come back. In the meantime, I will be having support from Miss Ailish as Mr Reggie has moved next door into Kindergarten Two.

Miss Cathy is looking to come back February/March, please don't hesitate to ask myself (Miss Tahlia) or Miss Hayley any questions. Just some reminders for the room:

  • A hat named everyday
  • A water bottle named (these do get refilled throughout the day)
  • Change of clothes named (for any accidents or wet clothes)
  • Lockers will have name tags displayed so please place your child's bag in the correct spot

Please apply sun cream on arrival from outside shelf or from self help area inside.

Miss Tahlia and Miss Ailish

Wunya Families,

It is the beginning year 2021. The starting month of our learn and play program. Our Pre-Kindergarten 2 room is transformed to Kindergarten 2 this year which means we run the room based on the Kindergarten curriculum.

We welcome some new children and families in our room and it was exciting moment to know more about our lovely children and their families.

We understand that this period could be a hard time for the children and families especially during drop off time. Sadness and fear are common feelings for the children during the transition period. However our Kindergarten 2 team will be with you and endeavour to meet the children's and our families' need.

We started to build a fundamental relationship towards our children and families and we are looking forward to see these children grow more then they are now.

For the families who haven't got your welcome pack, please see Sarah as the welcome pack contains some important information about about program, our room routines and information also some forms that require to be returned.

A friendly reminder for the families to return all about me and the goal form to Sarah and the kindergarten enrolment form to the office.

Should you need any further information about our room or any concern related with your child's needs please discuss with Sarah.

xx
Miss Sarah, Mister Reggie, Miss Maria and Miss Ailish
