Wunya all our beautiful families and guardians. Quarter months of the year went so quickly already and yet your little ones have been showing their milestones improvement at the same time.

We are so happy to see for our new families are settling in very well within their routine when with us in the Nursery 2 room.

As the weather playing very hard to read these days we have a few of our little ones developing unwell circumstances with their health. Hoping that resting well at home will speed up the recovery time too.

Recently we started video observations on the Xap app. When you click the image you will be a camera logo in the right corner then you can click that logo to start the video. Please provide any input when you are received this obs with the video on your little ones.

Once again we are so proud of each of our little friends which have been so wonderful, happy, and active at the same time.

 TODDLER ROOM

Wunya,

The toddler room has been very busy this month, celebrating

lots of centre events.

With the extra hot weather this month we included lots of water and sensory play

in the tub outside. We learnt how a water wheel works and used little spades and

containers to measure the water.

Dancing to our favourite songs, role play in the home corner kitchen and dressing up were

also popular.

We celebrated Holi, the Festival of colours which tied in with our learning all month of

how colours are a part of our World.Towards the end of the month we turned green

as we celebrated St Patricks Day.

Our baby dolls have also been a big part of our learning this month as we bathed them

in the tub, dried and wrapped them.I have recently gained some more wraps for the dolls

so we all have one to wrap our dolls up nice and snug.

As the month draws to a close we are starting on some fun Easter craft.

Remember if there is anything you need to discuss with us feel free to approach us.

Thank you for another lovely month

Ms Liz and the Toddler team.

 Hello Families,

Welcome to Pre-Kindergartens newsletter for March.

With Miss Amy, the children have started exploring the pre writing shapes of long stick, twig, spot, possum tail and sloping stick, coming up to the board during transitions to have a turn at drawing them. We have also been exploring environments in art with some different impressionist art works. We are using, for example, a piece from Van Gogh and asking the children their interpretation/what can they see and then going on to paint their veiw. Art promotes communication and word building, self expression, memory and fine motor skill development.

Another activity we have been working on is Jenga, for fun and to show examples of taking turns. The children have also been enjoying the fantasy creatures, like winged horses, unicorns, fairies and dragons, home corner and lego! We are well and truly into the construction stage.

Miss Tabi has been working on numeracy, using counters and stamping. Miss Tabi has also been working on building up to celebrate Nowruz, which is persian new year. The children have been painting egg shapes and discovering special items to be placed on a table to bring good energy into the new year. Thank you Miss Tabi for sharing this with us! Miss Tabi has been continuing her farsi language lessons with colours and numbers the focus.

Miss Mariela has been working on teaching the children spanish, using songs to help her. Miss Mariela has also been focusing on habits with the children, for example, setting up a great handwashing activity with soap, water and spray bottles.

Miss Liv has been working on different weather and getting the children to think about what's needed to play outside for each weather style.

This month we said goodbye to Miss Dishu. She will be missed but we wish her all the best.

Thank you,

Miss Amy, Miss tabi, Miss Mariela, Miss Liv, Miss Dishu, Miss Latha

Welcome to March in Kindergarten1! This month we acknowledged Ocean Week and focussed on learning about under Sea life and how we can all contribute to looking after our oceans using sustainable practises. It was interesting to learn sea creature habitats using small world play and ocean reef art.

Our focus letter sounds this term have been a/s/t/i/p/o/m where we listen to the

sound these letters make then position our mouths, tongues and lips to produce the sounds. We have then begun to explore joining some sounds together to make constantant vowel, constantant (CVC) words using a fun song/chant with actions. We have incorporated Auslan learning in our literacy group times also with Miss Laura teaching the corresponding sign to our sound/letter focus each week.

Our numeracy focus on shapes and number has continued with lots of fun filled play based investigations using loose parts and hands on learning tasks. As a group we look at the calendar each morning on the Interactive Whiteboard to count the days of the week and learn number recognition with the date. We also count the number of children in our group each morning which has us counting to 25 and beyond!

St Patrick's Day was embraced by the children where we explored heritage and traditions of Ireland. We worked on our numeracy skills to count lucky gold coins under the rainbow and also our receptive language skills to listen to a storyengage in some green shamrock sensory art.

Holi celebrations saw us exploring all our senses with an explosion of colour where we explored the meaning of Holi and explored the cultural traditions of the celebration using stories, dance and music to celebrate. Happy Holi!

We enjoyed lots of learning opportunities on Harmony day.We read books about how we "all belong" and made our sea of hands to display in a circle of harmony and friendship.Although we are all different in appearance and cultural background, we are all equally special and we all belong in our classroom.

This month we have excelled in leaps and bounds. The children are thriving in our Kindy environment and are showing wonderful growth in their skills and development. We have successfully completed our first term and learnt some wonderful things along the way. All of the March developmental observations have been published so please see XAP to see these. Have a lovely Easter break
