Hi Families and welcome to our May Newsletter for 2022
The year is passing so very quickly and our classrooms are all settled now for the remainder of the year.
If your still looking for any additional day pick up's it's important to touch base with us at reception every few months to see how these availabilities are going and if there is any upcoming positions.
We still currently have some Monday and Friday positions remaining.
A very big welcome to all our new families who have joined us over the last month.
We look forward to you joining our wonderful Kidz Magic community and hope you enjoy your time with us.

This month we celebrated international bee day. Each of the rooms learnt about bees and why they are important for the gardens. Did you know that there is approximately 20,000 species of bee world wide and that Australia is home to 2000 species of bees. WOW!
Bees are very important as they pollinate our flowers and help keep our gardens healthy. Australia is home to native stingless bees and blue banded bees which are constant visitors to our gardens here.

Welcome to May in Nursery 1
Hello to all our families in Nursery one, it has been a busy month with all the children investigating and exploring their senses to make sense of the world around them. We have provided sensory activities to facilitate exploration and to naturally encourage our children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate, and explore. The children have absolutely loved every opportunity of it, at times it was messy which they seemed to enjoy the most.
It has also been a joyful time over the last couple of weeks, the children are all comfortable in their surroundings so has those little personalities started to become a lot stronger in the sense of "if I don't want to, I won't do it" which brings so much joy to watch each day. Some of our children have achieved milestones and will continue to do so as we still have many more to reach throughout the year.
All our children are already started to develop their language skills through facial expression, words and babbling sounds to express their feelings and emotions and will continue in supporting their language skills.
We would like to thank all our parents for their support and if you have any suggestions on your child's development and learning and feel you can contribute, please let us know so we can achieve the best outcomes for our children.
As the weather has started to change can we please ask that our children have a jumper, socks, hat, and some spare clothing in their bags just in-case for those cold and messy days of food and soiling.

Wunya and welcome to our newsletter for May 2022.
Its nearly half year and its already May. But we are so proud and happy to observe and share their develpoment for last month.
Firstly, we would like to say a happy 1st birthday for Sebastian this month.
And we would like to give a huge congratulation for Scotti, Brock and Tvisha who on early this month they were all move to Toddler room. Its so fast and they were settling and enjoyed very well.
A warm welcome to Malakai and Aura who are joining in Nursery 2. We will be continuing to support their settling transition as well.
Due the weather is starting getting cold in early morning and late afternoon therefore please provide your child with a warm clothes, shoes, socks or shoes and jumper. As well with their spare clothes. We will send you a note or with an empty nappy cream container to replace it again.
We are so proud of our little friends that who is starting using they words more, improving of their walking skills, independent using the spoon during meals time, recognizing their own name, and interact and engage more with our resources and other peer at the same time. And they learning at the stage were playing nice and develops more their own confidence during their activities.
Don't missed their monthly interest and group play in the educa as well.
We are welcome of any your input, suggestion and if you are happy to share your child achievement during the week or weekend in educa as well.

This May we have been finishing off our pre writing shapes and moving forward with learning about each individual letter starting with A. We have been looking at the sound each letter makes along with words that start with each letter and the pre writing shapes that make up each letter. Kidsense tells us"Pre-writing skills are the fundamental skills children need to develop before they are able to write. These skills contribute to the child's ability to hold and use a pencil, and the ability to draw, write, copy, and colour. A major component of pre-writing skills are the pre-writing shapes. These are the pencil strokes that most letters, numbers and early drawings are comprised of. They are typically mastered in sequential order, and to an age specific level. These strokes include the following strokes: |, —, O, +, /, square, \, X, and Δ."
Activities we have been engaging in are cutting and gluing, sensory play with chia seeds, sticker sticking, scented play do, bingo stamping and indigenous place marker artwork. All of these activities are helping the children's fine motor skills, mathematics and senses.Miss Tabi has been teaching the children colours, numbers and shapes in her home language, Farsi. The children love this and almost know the colours off by heart!
The children are beginning to become more interested in the natural world and have been getting out and engaging in natural loose parts, like crystals, wooden blocks and castles. I'm excited to see where the children take this!

We also enjoyed learning about Japanese Children's Day! We shared a book all about Japan, then counted numbers in Japanese language. Miss Shwetha has also been teaching us Hindi language starting with our numbers 1 to 10. Our numberblocks books were a welcome surprise from Cohen's family. We have been using them to help explore representing number's by making the amounts of cube blocks as shown in the book.
This month we looked at how to make origami by folding paper into various shapes. Many of us chose to make japanese fans, using our fine motor skills to press down the folded segments of the paper. We also explored symmetry using paint to make mirrored pictures such as butterflies.
Our Mothers Day morning was a special time to celebrate our mums, grandma's and special people in our lives. We enjoyed creating special gifts and shared discussions about what is special about of mums.
This month with much excitement we introduced our Teacher Pet Creatures. The creatures are used as part of our show and share sessions, encouraging social skills, turn taking, listening, emotional regulation and expressive language. As a group we named our creatures; blueberry snuggles, orange, passionfruit cuddles and green apple. Each creature has been going home with a child to care for. Upon their return the children are reporting back on their adventures, sowing us pictures and photos.
Our focus shapes, this month have been diamonds (Rhombus) and triangles. We discussed differences between shapes and used building sticks to construct shapes and looked at how many corners and sides we could count on each shape.
Our phonics focus so far this term have been letters K, E, B and N. We are learning to recognise and produce the sounds and begin writing the letter shapes.
When the weather was kind we have been keeping active and busy outside. We had fun with hurdles, jumping and skipping. We also tried some outdoor yoga, mindfulness and rainbow breaths.
