 Miss Laura Chapman

 Welcome to in Nursery 1.

What a busy month we have had, our children have been such enthusiastic little learners and it is great to see how they have responded to all their learning experiences in November. Some of our children communicate so well verbally and non- verbally.

We have reached the end of the year and have seen so many mile- stones reached over the last couple of months as well as learning development, Sandra and myself are so proud of all the children they have all come such a long way since the beginning of the year.

Every single one has their own unique little personalities and has become stronger as the months have gone by, but we have enjoyed every single day learning from them as they from us. It will be sad to see some of them moving on for a new adventure but do know they are all ready to explore and succeed.

We have reached the end of the year and it was a wonderful journey through out, we greatly appreciate your support as we wouldn't have been able to make our journey such a success without you as our parents, so we want to say Thank you.

Our weather is a bit funny at the moment where we could still have hot days but cool afternoons, we ask that our parents to please provide us with a jumper for those cold or cooler afternoons. We also encourage our parents to please apply sunscreen before leaving home in the morning and we will continue applying sunscreen throughout the day when we have outdoor play.

Thank you and until next month.

Miss Alida and Miss Sandra.

Please have a little peek of their photos the month as followed:

 Dear Families and Friends,

We finally finished up our 26 weeks of phonics, alphabet and pre writing! We started the year off with learning about the alphabet and phonics using flash cards and board work, then moved onto pre writing shapes, (this also helped our shape recognition, numeracy and confidence) and started on putting those pre writing shapes together to form letters. While doing this we worked on language, speech and thinking. Really proud to see some children taking this to the next level on their own and utilising the art area to resource and extend on their learning by experimenting with letters by themselves.

We have a great loose parts/small world area in Pre Kindergarten, and it has really been a firm favourite for 2023. This area is stocked with animals, wooden stables and houses, trees, stones, and wooden blocks to create environments of the children's choosing. This type of resource brings a sense of excitement and adventure to children's play, encouraging them to experiment and use their imagination.

Lot's of art has been happening with an open art area, giving children a choice to create at any time. We have also been leading the children on some guided art with provocations. These guided artworks can give the children a shared experience, and a opportunity to bounce ideas and techniques.

We are looking forward to December, with Christmas and art and crafts!

Lots of love,

Miss Amy, Miss Tabi, Miss Dani, Miss Charmaine, Miss Baby Liv and Miss Ness

 Kindy 1 Newsletter November 2022

This month we have continued to look at our inquiry based theme of Art around the world. We have explored what art looks like and how various well known artists around the world express themselves. To make our own works of art we have used our creative skills and incorporated shapes, colours, lines, and visuals to tell a story on paper. Using a range of media and drawing tools, we have begun to make our own creations using recycled art and craft items.

We also enjoyed celebrating Odd sock day, a magic show incursion with Steph, Day and a special Remembrance Day service here at Kindy. We were thankful to have cadets in training and past service men to lead a ceremony then afterwards, read us stories and discuss Remembrance Day with us.

This month with much excitement we watched

the final stage of the caterpillars life cycle and released it as a butterfly! After months of observations and care for the caterpillars, it was a lovely way to see nature in real life!

Our focus shapes, this month have been the wonderful world of 3D shapes. We have identified different places we might see these shapes in our environment and started exploring their attributes, what they look like, how they look similar, what they remind us of.

Our phonics focus so far this term have been the letters oe, ue and the sounds we can hear. We are learning to recognise and produce the sounds and begin putting constant sounds together with vowel sounds to write and read some words.

Physical aspects of the program have been keeping us active and busy outside. We had fun with hula hooping, balance and cubby house creations. Its been a wonderful learning

opportunity to have the children work as a team, helping, turn taking, problem solving together to build cubbies using lots of resources and engage in symbolic play.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.... for the rest of the term we are exploring Christmas around the world. We are learning how various countries celebrate and acknowledge Christmas. We are investigating through story books, different cultural experiences of Christmas shared with us from the educators in our Kindergarten, parents and the children's own knowledge. We will be making various art based creations and decorations to display in our classroom and take home at the end of term.

Reminders: The Kindergarten Program Term 4 finishes on December 9th. After this date will a holiday care program during December/January.

Please let the office know when your child's last day will be. Thank you.

Hi families,

Wow the end of year is approaching fast. We are having a strong focus on our name writing and pen holding skills. The children have come such a long way, we are so proud of you all. We are excited to be getting into some fun Christmas craft activities. We will participate in lots on fun water activities as the weather warms up so make sure you have spare clothing packed. Please ensure your child has shoes, hat and a water bottle everyday. The shoes are very important as the ground can be quite hot. As the end of year is coming, please ensure you thoroughly check and empty your child's locker each day as the art work is being sent home regularly. Any left behind in the lockers will be placed in the rubbish. A reminder about our Christmas markets coming up on the 3rd, we hope to see you all there.
