Hello and welcome to the September sustainability update.

This month we were lucky enough to get to participate in National tree day where we got to add many beautiful native trees to our collection. We have also seen the days start to warm up which has lead to some changes in our gardens. We are starting to see all our flowers and vegetables start blooming for the warmer months and our winter stock is starting to slow down.

Our latest flowers to bloom include our peas, beans, eggplants, lavender and a range of our edible flowers. We have also noticed a change in the bugs and creatures that have been visiting our gardens.

We have found many new bugs, a lot of ladybugs and many bees. We have been working hard to fill our gardens with lots of new flowers and plants ready for the warmer months.

Miss Laura Chapman

Welcome to September in Nursery 1.

Hello to all our Nursery one families, it has been a busy month with all the children investigating, exploring, some still settling into their new environment and others achieving new milestone's. September has been a very excited month as we took our babies on their first excursion a walk around the lake, Sandra and myself really enjoyed it just as much as the children did. We had no idea of how we would go but most of our babies fell asleep on our halfway mark around the lake, so we are more prepared for our second adventure having morning tee in the park and this could be more challenging, but we are willing to give it a go. We have seen a lot of changes and milestones reached on a weekly basis we are also supporting and assisting our older children with new challenges in transitioning them from highchairs to sitting at the table for mealtimes, finding their own drink bottles and following simple instructions. To our surprise our children have responded well, and we will continue in supporting our children to reach their potential.

As we are fast approaching the end of the year it's been amazing journey for Sandra and myself to watch our babies develop into toddlers, the children are all comfortable in their surroundings so has those little personalities started to become a lot stronger which brings so much joy to watch each day. Some of our children have started the transitioning process in the late afternoon's just to familiarise our children with their new surroundings for next year which really makes it a lot easier for the children in their new adventure.

We would like to thank all our parents for their support over the last couple of months, it has been a great joy having these children in our care watching them grow, learn, and develop their own personalities.

Just a reminder to please make sure our children have some spare cloths in their bags as it starts to warm up during the day we will provide the children with more water play.

Miss Alida and Miss Sandra.

Wunya and apa kabar for all our beautiful families. It's our September newsletter for our little friends in Nursery 2.

Firstly, we would like to say a happy First (1st) birthday to Noah this month.

For our new family who were started with us in Nursery 2 has been improve a lot with daily transition very well.

This month we are starting with our little friends who are transition to Toddler room. Each day we have a roster for the children who are transition as well. So far, all children are starting to enjoyed the environment and getting to know other educators in Toddler room as well.

Another good news from Nursery 2 is we were started our first time of our excursion day to our local park as well. It was excited for our little friend during this activity where they were enjoyed the few and different outdoor environment where they can hear more birds sound, watching some fishes in the lake and spotted few swans from the lake. Then we were stop by at the park where we can starch out and enjoyed assorted flowers, tree, plants and feeling the green grass and sands between their little toes and enjoyed a fresh air. Just a little reminder to place their hat in their bag at all the time as we are having our excursion in random days.

Just a small reminder regards naming each belonging it would be so much appreciated.

In our daily activities involve with painting, playdough, wet play and drawing. They were enjoyed so much sometimes will stain and wet on your child's clothes (they are still under supervision by the educator). Therefore, wearing on daily clothes where suit for this activity will be appreciated as well.

Welcome families to Pre Kindergarten's September Newsletter,
This month we worked on the letters Q, R, S, T. With this learning we discovered the sound the letter made and spent the week on each letter, discussing and discovering words that start with the letters sound, finding objects around the room that can help us on our literary journey.
For Q we played the Quiet Game, where one child, if they wanted to participate, was blindfolded and the other children had a small area to hide in, the aim of the game was to be quiet or move quietly. Kind of like a quiet game of Tag.
For R we painted rainbows, spreading colourful paint across parchment.
For S we read The Rainbow Snake, and painted our snakes.
For T we constructed tents, or had fun attempting to.
Miss Tabi has been working on Farsi word with the children, colours, shapes and numbers. I think our favourite is when the children bring her a toy or object and point out the colour in Farsi. Miss Tabi has been also working on Mathematics with the children.
Shapes have made a comeback and we are looking at shapes in our environment and getting the children to think out of the box. Also looking at how shapes make up pictures! (Just like letters with their pre writing shapes)
See you next month!

Miss Amy, Miss Dani, Miss tabi, Miss Ness and Miss Charmaine.

 Kindy 1 Newsletter September 2022

This month in Kindergarten 1 we have enjoyed a range of gross motor experiences. The educators put together some obstacle courses for the children to complete both indoor and out.Our focus has been balance, coordination between left and right sides of the body and following pathways using our directional and spatial concepts.

We have continued to explore our theme of Fairy Tales, enjoying sharing our favourite characters and books during show and share times. During September is was lots of fun having special incursion and dress up days. We enjoyed talk like a pirate day, Father's Day breakfast, a Science show and the Ditto children protection program. During the month the kindergarten children were also busy learning all about numbers! We looked at what a number looks like represented in objects, in particular number towers. In the fairy tale story of Rapunzel, the main character lived in a very tall tower, so we engaged in building towers with unifix cubes based on the number we rolled on a dice.

Our phonics focus so far this term have been vowel letters and sounds A, E, IO,U. We are learning to recognise and produce the sounds and begin putting constant sounds together with vowel sounds to write and read some words. We are recognising these sounds in shared reading experiences where the educators read a book, then the children enjoy looking for and listening for sounds in the text.

This month the children were invited to help design our outdoor area. We looked at a map of our side yard and used the children's input and interested to come up with a new fresh look. The children agreed they would like a mud pit, fresh sand, recycled tyres to climb on, new shrubs and a gardening area. We are in the process of establishing this area now, being a work in progress. We look forward to utilising our side yard during our beautiful spring days!

 Wunya families,

Another wonderful month of learning. This month we covered the letters Dd, Ll, Oo, Uu, Ff and Gg. We had some amazing learning opportunities such as painting flamingos and drawing pictures of our families. We celebrated Fathers Day this month with a special morning tea, had Ditto visit us to talk about staying safe and learn about boundaries. We also dressed up like pirates for Talk Like A Pirate Day. So many fun events. Now that the weather is slowly starting to warm up, please provide the children a spare change of clothes that may be a bit cooler in case they are too hot. Please please also ensure your child's clothes are sunsmart (no sleeveless dresses/singlets etc).

Thanks from the Kindy 2 Team
