Welcome to this month's newsletter, and another month closer to the end of the year.

Welcome to all our new families who have joined us the past month. We look forward to being a part of your child's learning and development journey.

Important dates:

30th September – Cowboy/cowgirl dress up day

4th October – Queens Birthday public holiday – centre closed

24th October - United Nations Day

28th October – Not So Scary Dress up day (Halloween dress up)

29th October – Day For Daniel – wear red

29th October – EKKA show holiday (rescheduled) centre is open

Confirming enrolments for 2022 - We are asking parents to confirm their bookings for 2022, advise of children who will be leaving or commencing prep or children taking holidays/absences for December 2021 and January 2022. This is to assist us with allocating vacancies to our 2022 waiting list families as well as approving leave for staff who have requested holidays during that time. If you are requiring changes to your booking for 2022 you can indicate this on the form, and changes will be dependent upon availability. Keep an eye out for the forms as they will be available very soon.

Please keep in mind that we require 2 weeks written notice if your child is finishing up or you are changing your booked days. This is to assist with the roster allocations. Under government guidelines for receiving the Childcare Subsidy a child must attend on their last day when notice to cease care has been given by a parent or the subsidy will not be applied. This will result in the parent being liable for full fees for any absences during the notice period.

Summative assessments – all children will have a Summative Assessment uploaded to their Educa profile by the end of this year. Educators are currently working through these. What is a Summative Assessment? It is an overview of the distance traveled by your child on their own unique learning journey, a story about their progress so far toward certain learning outcomes. The kindergarten children will have Prep transitional statements completed instead of a Summative Assessment.

Sun safety –Just a reminder that we advocate for sun safety. You will find a Sunscreen Station and information about the daily UV rating in the foyer. As per our policy, singlets, tank tops, sleeveless tops or dresses are not considered sun safe. If your child does wear a singlet/tank top, sleeveless top/dress can you please pack a tee shirt in their bag to pop over this clothing to provide better sun protection in the outdoor environment. Can we ask that parents remember to ensure that you put your child's hat on them and apply sunscreen to your child each morning upon arrival. As the mornings are very busy with our increase in enrolments, we would greatly appreciate your assistant with this.

Absent for the day or arriving after 10.00am – If your child will be away for the day or will be coming in to the centre after 10.00am can you please let us know. This would be greatly appreciated to assist with meal preparations and also staffing allocations.
