Poppies One and Two-
Welcome to our news from the poppies 1 and 2. We are delighted to share some of our beautiful stories with our parents and the community. We welcome all the children who joined us from junior kindy and Jasreet, Oscar Li who started at the centre last month. We are very happy to take you through the process of learning the routine in the Poppies room. The older poppies welcomed the young ones and helped them in their settling down.
We started our music program from a teacher known as swaggie man and it has been very popular. The children are eager to participate on the Friday mornings and we see the benefits they have acquired. The children are learning new musical instruments and how to play with them. We practiced making musical rhythms from sticks, bells, drums and simply with our hands. We also learnt how to dance to musical rhythms.
We celebrated the reconciliation week by reading stories from the dreamtime. The book "Sorry Sorry" was a good opportunity for children to learn about the history of Australia. The book titled " Napangardi's bush tucker walk" was a very popular story for our children and they discovered the bush animals and the bush food the indigenous people are associated with. After reading the story we made a story map of the bush tucker journey and the children worked together to colour the pictures.
The children are feeling the winter chill and please make sure they have enough warm clothing when they arrive. That's all for now and we'll share more interesting stories in our next edition. Office News- With the introduction of the new child care subsidy, please ensure your checking your statements as these are the details I have from Centrelink. If your fees are incorrect or seem like there is no subsidy from July 2nd, Full Fees will be payable. Time is running out to fix things, please check your own statement, as seek assistance from me if you think there is an error.
10th Birthday Celebration is this Friday 29th!! Come in and share the fun,
9am-10am is Physikids
10am-11am is Yoga
3.30-5pm is a sausage sizzle and popcorn, these will be sold for $2 each. All monies made will go to the Macgregor Lions Club!! So come with an empty tummy and some change!!
From 3.45pm there will be a show for all ages!! With Magic Glen and the famous Bubble Show!
Throughout the day there will be numerous fun activities and the ever popular jumping castle!!
