Weekly Family News

Welcome to our July newsletter for Poppies one and two. We have been progressing through to our half way mark of the kindergarten year. There have been a few highlights this month in regard to our children's learning. We celebrated the NAIDOC week in the beginning of the month. The children had the opportunity to learn the history of Australia through a presentation. They learnt the journey from first Australians to the modern Australia with a very interactive and fun presentation. The children got to wear the costumes and dance to the indigenous music and the music from other parts of the world.

Celebrating grandparent's day was another highlight. The children worked very hard to practice three songs to welcome and say thank you to their grandparents for the wonderful job they do. We started to learn the acknowledgement to the country where our centre belongs which is "Yugara people". The children did a great job at the beginning of the grandparent's presentation by acknowledging the Yugara people.

Thank you for all the parents who attended the information evening from the deputy principle of the Warrigal road state school. It was a good opportunity for the parents to learn and help their children in their transition from kindergarten to prep.

Well that's all for now and we will update you with more good stories in our next edition. Thank you for keeping a good partnership with us to help your children in their journey of learning. Anila and Aman, Jas and Joyce
