October 2020

October News!

Hello again families, hope you are all slowly starting to get some normality back into your lives. We have welcomed the spooky season but unfortunately due to COVID-19 restrictions our popular Halloween Disco will have to wait until next year (yes we are as upset as you are!)

We are however going to be celebrating Halloween on Friday the 30th of October, so get your children's costumes ready for a day of spooky fun!

Hats

Please make sure that your child comes in with a hat each day, as the days get hotter the UV ratings also continue to increase. Sun safety is very important! If your child does not have a hat they will be asked to stay on the veranda during outdoor play. Please also remember to label your children's hats to avoid them being misplaced.

For hygienic reasons spare hats are not available at our centre.

Appropriate Clothing

Summer days are fast approaching, we have already seen above average temperatures for the month of October so please make sure to dress your child accordingly. Mornings are sometimes chilly so we ask that you pack a change of short clothes in their bags each day to avoid over heating throughout the hotter days - remember to also pack extra clothes and undies if your child is toilet training.

Keep in mind sun safety when packing short clothing, short sleeve shirts are perfect. Please avoid singlets/dresses with straps.

Water Bottles

A quick reminder to bring a water bottle daily.  We request that you also then please make sure these are taken home every afternoon to get washed properly.  As much as we endeavour to rinse these out each night, we are not able to provide proper cleaning and mould, germs continue to build up.

2021 Re-enrolment forms

It is that time of year again where we begin planning for the year ahead. Re-enrolment forms for 2021 will be emailed out later on this month, please keep an eye on your emails for them. Please also make sure you let us know if you are taking any time off during the Christmas period so we can plan staff leave accordingly and ensure we continue to meet staff-child ratios.

Poppies Transition Statements

We are so excited to hear Prep orientations have started for most of our preschool children! We are so excited to hear about their experiences and are already starting to get emotional over the thought of them leaving!

We understand some schools are already requesting transition statements and this is a standard procedure during this time of year.  The transition statements will be sent out by the end of November, in the meantime please keep an eye on your emails for the consent forms. The consent forms need to be signed and returned to the office in order for us to be able to share this information with your child's school.

Crazy to think our Poppies children only have a few months left here at Piptree!!

Signing In and Out

Lastly a quick reminder about signing your child/ren in and out each day.

Signing your children in and out on each day of attendance is a legal requirement and we ask that you please do this each time your child is in.

This also assists us in keeping track of the number of children in our care, as well as ensuring we are meeting staff-child ratios at all times (which is also a legal requirement)!

Thank you for your cooperation with this!  So many of you already do this on a regular basis and we are so thankful!

We would really appreciate you taking the time to share your Piptree experience with others ? Review us below!
