It's hard to believe that it's already the end of October! What an interesting year it's been so far! Quite frankly, I'm sure we are all looking forward to the end of it. Bring on the holiday season! Though the holidays are right around the corner, there's still so much to do! So, let's get started with the Piptree Sunnybank Hills Early Learning Newsletter, October 2020 addition!
October is a child safety awareness month and on Friday 30 October 2020 is Day for Daniel, Australia's largest national day of action to raise awareness of child safety, protection, and harm prevention. Our staff will wear red and our educators are encouraged to start a conversation with children about personal safety and conduct child safety education activities.
As the children are excited about Halloween, they are more then welcome to dress up in their costumes if they wish to do so on the same day.

Earlier this month D'arcy Pforr took photos of all graduating children. Online ordering is available now! By now you have received your flyer/card with password access, but if you haven't please see the centre/kindy room staff. Orders with free delivery to the centre will close on Monday, 2.11.2020

Kindergarten the end of year Parent/Teacher Interviews
Our Early Childhood Teacher team are currently compiling your child's Transitional Statements for prep 2021. Parents will have the opportunity to discuss this statement with their teachers during the parent/teacher interviews. However, the transition statement can only be handed over if the consent form has been completed, which will then be handed back to you. A schedule time roster will be on display in both Blossom 2 and Poppies room and if you would like to hear about your child's learning experiences or any concerns you may have, please choose the available time that suits you the best.

Graduation Ceremony
They did it! In the kindergarten rooms, the children's hard work has come to fruition. They have grown and learned with so much enthusiasm and energy. Now we prepare to send our little ones off to prep, but not before we acknowledge their holistic growth with a graduation celebration ceremony. How exciting! Then … COVID 19 struck. It has had a major impact on our lives and social events. The COVID 19 is changing the ways the world connects, communicates and celebrates. Therefore, we are unfortunately unable to invite our parents to the graduation ceremony. Graduation may look different this year, but the commitment to our graduates hasn't changed. The safety of your child, our community and all our staff are our first priority and as per government recommendation our service is taking part in alternative formats for celebrations and gatherings, such as reduced group sizes and using digital technologies to share the event with families.
Our little graduates will still have their proud moment and each child will receive a graduation certificate in recognition of their participation in kindergarten. Therefore, the kindergarten teachers and educators together with management held a meeting, drafting a schedule for this special day to take place and make it memorable for all. We will celebrate over 3 days, the last 3 days of November will be dedicated to our Kindy graduates.
Kindergarten Graduation will be held on Wednesday, 25.11, Thursday, 26.11 and Friday, 27.11.2020 at 12.15-3.00pm
12:15-12:45pm Lunch
12:45-1:00pm Children getting dressed in graduation gowns
1:00-2:00pm Graduation Ceremony including speech, performing songs and handing out graduation certificates
2:00-2:30pm Dance till you drop!
2:30-3:00pm Graduation cake and afternoon tea (fresh fruit)
