From the Front Desk

Hello and welcome to another Piptree Early Learning newsletter. A very big welcome to all our new children and their families I would like to extend a warm welcome, we hope that your children will learn many new skills whilst attending the centre and that their families will enjoy the support and encouragement of our friendly team of professionals working here. Our vacancies are slowly filling up; I would still like to put to you that if you would like extra days or know of anyone who is looking for care to recommend our centre.

As regulations are asking we utilise all natural items with the children we are asking for families to keep an eye out for heavy duty cane baskets, coloured glass stones, large logs that can be cut up and used as stepping stones. Also curtains for the rooms to make little corners and anything that you think maybe able to help us.

Sick Children

Please check your child daily to ensure that they are well enough to attend the Centre. If your child is displaying any of the common symptoms, eg high temp, lethargy, vomiting, not eating, stomach pains etc then they should probably be kept home.We have a duty of care to all the children attending and sick children will be sent home.Regular updates are posted to inform you of any illnesses reported to the centre.

No Smoking

Please remember we are a non smoking centre.  This means once you drive in our driveway please put out all cigarettes until you leave the premises.  It is unsafe and unhealthy for our children!

Kiosk sign in and out

Please make sure that you're using the kiosk to sign in and out!

It is a legal requirement that you sign your child in and out every day of attendance. A staff member is more than happy to assist you if you are having difficulty using the Kiosk.

  Labelling belongings

We cannot emphasise enough the importance of labelling your child's belongings. As children these days have a lot of similar clothing, shoes, and even back packs. It is hard enough keep the belonging together during the day so as you can imagine the difficulty when the belongings are not labelled.

Application of Sunscreen

Sunscreen should be applied to children 20 minutes prior to going out into the sun to allow the sunscreen to absorb and protect the skin from the UV rays.We ask that each child arrives to the centre with sunscreen already applied at home so they are ready for the morning outside play program.Staff will reapply throughout the day 20 minutes prior to going back out in the sun. They will also remind you when you need to bring in a bottle of sunscreen per child in the service.Remember no hat no play. Your child will then be asked to play under cover.
