News From our Rooms

Pips (Miss Teagan)

Hi all and welcome to a new year in pips class! This year I will be the lead educator for our little pips children, I am looking forward to getting to know all of your children, and watch them blossom into strong & confident learners. I would like to take the time now to welcome a few new faces to our class. Welcome, Wyatt, Raelyn and Aria H to our class, along with all our returning children from 2019 as well.

Transitions, including from home to Piptree, the drive here, from Piptree to school all offer opportunities and challenges. Different places and spaces have their own purposes, expectations, and ways of doing things. Building on children's prior and current experiences helps them to feel secure, confident and connected to familiar people, places, events, and understandings. So far this year I have been focusing on learning the different individual transitions and routines of each of the children to aid in a smooth transition for each child. In our little kitchen, I have put up each child's routine to aid in any relief staff to also maintain smooth transitions & routines for each child.

As the culture and context of family is central to children's sense of being and becoming and lifelong learning. To promote contact with family, we promoted valentine's day in our class this year. You might have all seen the little gifts children have made/painted over the weeks leading up to valentine's day.

Over the next month, we will be focusing on building and maintaining learning relationships with other children as well as educators. We will also begin to aid the children to develop their emerging autonomy, interdependence, resilience, and sense of agency through various child lead activities.

Just a little note, please remember to name all of your child's belongings before you arrive each day. This will help us to ensure items don't go missing!

Until next time,

Teagan.

Sprouts (Miss Leanne / Miss Suki)

Hi, I would like to say thank you to you all for making me feel so welcomed into your child's life. We have had a fantastic time getting to know each other and the room. We have been settling into the room really well. For our learning we have been exploring our body parts through music and movement and songs, naming our body parts while pointing to them. Through language, we are beginning to say our body parts. The children have also been exploring our sense of touch through different sensory experiences which have been lots of fun.

Buds (Miss Sarah / Miss Aman)

Hello there everyone,

Welcome to the Buds room 2020, Miss Sarah and Miss Aman are the educators of the room. We are super excited to teach your children this year, we are working on shapes, colours, numbers, imagination play and developing their physical development.

The children have shown lots of interest in doctor play and pretending to have an ice cream shop in the home corner, Sarah and Aman have set up areas of the room with doctor equipment. We will be setting up a pretend ice cream station to help the children develop their imagination further.

We look forward to this year in the Buds room.

Blossoms (Miss Lucy / Miss Heidi)

Hello Again,

Firstly, a big WELCOME to all our new families that have joined us recently, it has been a pleasure getting to know you and your wonderful children who are now part of our family of Pip Tree Early Learning.

For the past month, we have been trying to settle down the new children as they are away from their parents and gave them a lot of attention to make sure they feel comfortable, and have reassurance with their new environment

So far in these past few months, we let the children explore and engage in any physical activity, sensory play and learn about their new surroundings, peers, teachers etc to develop their social skills in interacting indoor/outdoor experience.

Just a reminder for the parents PLEASE read the notices up on the sliding door and check your child's PARENT POCKETS and pack extra clothes for water play. As well as other named belonging such as water bottle, sheets and medication with chemist labels.

If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to ask Miss Lucy and Miss Hedi or write it in COMMUNICATION BOOK and FEEDBACK/ SUGGESTION BOX.

Thank You,

Miss Lucy and Miss Hedi

Poppies (Miss Brie / Miss Elle)

Hello from Poppies and welcome to Kindergarten 2020!

Here in Poppies, we are working hard to prepare your child for Prep next year. Providing them so many opportunities to play, learn and grow!

January and February have been centered around settling in, learning a new routine and getting to know each other and the environment. Building a sense of belonging is important to us and we have started building a strong foundation for this through fun group games and lots of learning experiences.

Children have had a lot of fun engaging with numeracy and literacy in personally meaningful ways, through listening to stories, singing songs and show and share. A quick reminder on 'show and share' expectations. I do strongly encourage the children to bring in a book or an item of significance to show the class. Our suggestions include; a photo, a favourite book, a holiday souvenir, or something special they have made at home.

The Kindergarten approved Program is running from Tuesday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.30 pm. Please take some time to read our daily routine displayed in the room and our learning stories daily. We have started back with Yoga on Wednesday afternoons at 2.30 pm with Miss Lisa! Poppies love yoga! We have also begun the ELLA program again, this year we are learning Spanish.

We have lots of exciting things coming up in the next few months, stay up to date with it all through our notices, Facebook and Educa 😊

Adios,

Miss Brie & Miss Elle
