March News

Welcome to Underwood  ELC monthly newsletter.

First off I would like to welcome our new families to the centre, I hope this is the start of a very long partnership to help educate your little treasures.

We have now provided new centre hats to all children.  Each child has a hat pocket with their name outside their room.

We have had a few good crops from our garden over the last month with pumpkin being the first and sweet potato.  The children are currently growing a verity of seedlings from the Woolworth's seed pods , lets hope we have more growing success. People ask us how we get anything to grow and the secret is the worm tea, we recently shared some of our worm tea with Rochedale South State school to help them get their gardens healthy. We are certainly being quite sustainable at the centre from recycling bottles, composting our scraps, worm farming, native bees hive and frog motel we are doing our bit for the environment and future generations while teaching our children.

Extra Curricular Activities

We currently have Grasshopper soccer with Wes every Wednesday morning and Hey Dee Ho music on Thursday mornings.

If you would like your child to attend any of these classes  please see Leanne in the office for sign up details and cost.

Easter Bonnet Parade

The children will be making Easter bonnets in class leading up to Easter. This year we will be holding a parade un like 2020, the parade will take place on Thursday 1st April, we will be filming the parade and posting it to Educa for all families to watch. We will also be running an Easter raffle to be drawn on Thursday 1st April by one of our random families arriving at drop off, the tickets will cost $1 each or 6 for $5 so get your book of tickets at the front office.
