Underwood Early Learning - April 2017

News from the Office

Welcome to the April newsletter and to our new families that have joined us this month at Underwood, we look forward to many educational years together. I'm glad to say our families faired well during the recent storms, and the speed at which parents were able to collect the children on Thursday was amazing. It just hi lights the need to keep your contact details up to date at all times. so if your email, phone , or work phone numbers have changed please make sure you let the office know.

As most of you may know by now Miss Allison has moved over to one of our sister centres to fill in as the Centre Manager. She may come back but if she decides to it may become permanent,  this is a wonderful experience for her and we wish her well in this endeavour.

Due to the weather last Thursday we had to cancel the preschool information night. this will now take place on Tuesday 18th April starting at 5pm. The topics on the agenda are home work, ELLA Language program, Jolly Phonics just to name a few, there will also be time to answer questions you may have. We are asking this to be a child free evening, please let Miss Andrea or Leanne know if you can attend.

Exciting News from the Kitchen

Miss Kirstine our favourite cook is expecting her first child with her husband in September. I'm sure you will join me in congratulating her.

Have you become the food police? attached is an interesting article from the Australian Childcare Alliance Early Edition Autumn 2017. https://issuu.com/childcarequeensland/docs/aca-ee-vol11-autumn-2017-digital/12

They have brought up some interesting ideas about food and the pressure we put on our children at meal times.
